We have been going there for many years. All of the vets are extremely knowledgeable, and they have a great deal of experience. It is a clinic that is very well established, they have been there for many years. The staff is very professional, and caring with the treatment of your animals. They are reasonable, and we like them a lot. For the most part our animals seems to like them as well.

First, full disclosure - I have nothing with which to compare the experience, I am a brand new pet owner. I took my adopted dog Bella to the Fairfield Vet Clinic for an initail check up and to update some of her shots. The folks there did a very nice job of explaining what was happening and handled Bella in a very caring way -- she remained quite calm the entire visit including while having blood drawn and recieving the shots. I will definitely be willing to use their services in the future.

I brought my cat into Fairfield Vet a couple years ago to get her checked out as I'd picked her up as a stray. The building looked nice and clean and I really liked the vet (not sure who I saw). My cat ended up needing several vaccinations and this is where things got iffy. The tech helping out wasn't very good at all. She was holding my cat by the scruff of her neck and my cat obviously didn't like this and started thrashing around. The tech only pinched her neck harder and dug her long fingernails into her. I was appalled. This cat had never shown any signs of aggression and tried to bite the tech a few times (and with good reason...). After that scenario I didn't bring her back for several years. So about a month ago my cat got into a fight with another cat. Turns out the other cat bit her tail and I noticed it was droopy and she was very lethargic and hiding under the bed. This was a Friday morning and I had to go to work all day. I was worried whether I'd be able to get her in to see a regular vet on the weekend. Fairfield was the only vet in the area open on Saturdays so I called to see if they could get her in. Luckily they were able to see her fairly early on the next morning. I did have to wait about 15 minutes or so for the vet, but no big deal. When he finally looked at her, he determined right away she had an abscess on her tail that needed to be cut open and drained. They said they needed to sedate her and that I could come back and get her in a couple hours. Before I left I decided to get her some much needed updates on her vaccinations. I was a little worried about this because of my last experience, but this was a different tech who held my cat differently and petted her during the exam. My cat had at least 3 shots without so much as twitching. What a relief! They then took her back and I came back several hours later to pick her up as they'd instructed. She was ready to go when they said she'd be and they gave me good directions on how to take care of her. They also gave her a shot of antibiotics which meant no medication to give her later. She was back to her normal self the next day.

I was much happier with the service I got the second time around. I think the original tech that we saw was still working there... so I'd be wary. She was a younger dark haired girl with long fingernails. The tech that helped out on this most recent trip was awesome as was the vet. I thought prices were very reasonable too. I will definitely take my cat back here in the future.

Overall, I have been very pleased with their clinic. I would highly recommend them to anyone. We have another dog who I still take there. He isn't any fonder of going to the Vet than Sammy was. Sammy was very... Shall we say, feisty. I always encouraged the use of a muzzle. They were and still are very patient.

They are an example of dedicated professionals who are skilled, thorough, and efficient. Our dogs are happy and healthy, and two years after the surgery, Angel has better use of the surgical side than of the other leg. The only reason I stopped using them is that we moved to another state many miles away. I highly recommend these vets; you could not ask for a better group to care for your pets.

I used them because they were convenient at the time. I did like their staff and doctors and their rates were good too. I ended up moving away, so I no longer use them. If you live in the Layton area though, I would recommend using them.
