Seemed a bit high priced.

Miguel at AAMCO took car for a few hours. Called to say it was running well and saw no need for adjustments or rebuild. Took time to explain why it was not shifting smoothly at times. Very professional and courteous. Said there would be no charge.

We had to return several times to have the transmission adjusted and they were very professional and always listened to our concerns.

Took my car in on a Monday afternoon and they were very good at looking at it right away to do a quick 1st look to see what was wrong. They didn't get back to looking at my car until the next afternoon and found that I had a problem with the mass air flow sensor in the engine. They were able to get it replaced and I was able to pick it up that evening. Little frustrated to spend an afternoon waiting on them to do nothing with my car the 1st afternoon. Glad to have the car back and running smoothly.

They did a great job. I would give them an A overall, they were really good. They were really good all around. I would absolutely use them again.

Early 2000s Honda Odysseys have known transmission problems. Our 2002's started acting up. Dealer wanted $5200 to Rand R trans, computer and one rear-wheel bearing. As this was close to the total value of the van, I took it to Robert Lee at AAMCO for a second opinion. After a quick test drive and hearing my description of the symptoms he assured me the trans was most likely mechanically okay, but there was probably some electronic component that was at fault. He also recognized the telltale sound of a bad rear wheel bearing. Bottom line, after some detailed diagnosis of the vehicle, a faulty Transmission Fluid Temp (TFT) sensor was replaced for about $300 parts and labor. Computer did not require replacement. One rear wheel bearing shot, the other failing. They replaced both for approx $600 parts and labor. Robert and his crew are very familiar with the transmission issues of this generation of Odysseys and knows just about everything that causes problems. AAMCO is willing to diagnose and replace components rather than the dealer's simple solution of just replacing the whole thing. Highly recommended. Saved some serious coin over the dealer and hope to drive my Odyssey many more miles. Symptoms: Odyssey owned since new. 135k miles, meticulous trans preventative maintenance as I knew these trans had a reputation of problems. When hot (after long high-speed travel or stop-and-go traffic), trans would hesitate ("flare") at 1-2 and 2-3 shifts, and "slam" into lower gears when slowing. Fluid was at correct level, pink and didn't smell burnt.
