"We do our best to satisfy all of our customers. In fact, we take great pride in the many satisfied customers that we have. However, we have had quite a difficult time working with the [Removed Member Name] . They demanded multiple, substantial changes, which considerably changed the scope of the project during its construction. These caused us to stop work and redo work already performed, as well as forced us to reschedule trades to accommodate their continued changes. They refused to accept the cost and time delay, resulting from the changes that they demanded. The [Removed Member Name] informed us that they would be completing their project on their own. We offered to refund them for the amount of work not performed and to terminate our contract. They refused to come to any sort of agreement and, as a result, we have initiated litigation for breach of contract and this is currently being handled by our attorney."
Shane is honest and fair and did excellent work, with one except - we ordered decking material he had never installed. It is a powder-coated aluminum decking material that interlocks to give a solid, water tight decking surface. Shane learned how to install it and did it well except that the grading is not perfect and we get small pools of water at the outer edge of the deck instead of it all draining off. I guess this is kind of complicated to install but we love it.
Shane removed a mini kitchen in the basement and recommended improvements to the plumbing design which we appreciated and made the space work much better. The quality of work in the bathroom, new storage room, new family room with mini kitchen is excellent. (We engaged another contractor for all the cabinet work.)
Whenever we suggested that a certain element might not be as we had planned, Shane was very responsive, listened, and made things to our liking.
The only complaint is how long the project took. Admittedly, we had landscaping going on at the same time and these two contractors were sometimes waiting on each other - but we would expect better communication about project timing.
As things have settled, there are a few non-critical issues that need to be resolved. I know Shane will resolve them once I reach out to him.
