MP Construction & Plumbing

After having several companies give a us bids and explain our options we decided on MP Construction.  They seemed the most knowledgeable and easy to work with. They promptly came out and gave us very competitive detailed bids. The kept us informed along the process and their suggestions on were always very helpful. Max is a professional and we always know that the project will be done extremely well at a fair price. He is the kind of person you can feel good about coming in your house, even if your not going to be around the whole time the work is being done. He works very hard to make sure the job is done right. They also are always very careful to see that they keep the work area very clean and use drop cloths to protect the carpet.  We highly recommend MP Construction if you want the work done professionally at a very competitive price by someone who takes pride in the work they do. I might also add, by someone who has the knowledge and experience to do so.
Ripped up old tile in our entryway, strengthened the flooring underneath with thick plywood so that the new tile wouldn't crack like the old tile did. Replaced the entry door threshold and reinforced it with cement underneath it. Helped us make informed choices regarding the tile and grout combination that would go together. Used high quality grout that is much less likely to crack than some of the more traditional grout. Our entryway now looks excellent and we now longer have a big gap under our front door.
We had a shower that the floor pan was leaking and was unusable.  MP Construction ripped out the old shower, installed a high quality state of the art waterproofing system, installed a new floor pan and drain. Then they proceeded to masterfully tile our new shower which included a decorative strip, again using a very high quality grout.  Finally, they arranged for a beautiful shower door to be installed.
We had a bathtub in our basement that was in bad shape and had a hole it, was on a platform, and had a very ugly surround wall around it.  The removed that eyesore, moved the floor drain, got rid of the the platform and built us a spacious and beautiful shower with a decorative strip. Again, a high quality waterproofing system was used as well as a grout that is much less likely to ever crack was recommended and used at a very reasonable price.  The shower was customized which required some adjustments to the duct work and a portion of the ceiling which Max took care of very nicely.
Next, we had a water heater that was in need of replacing. It was no small task to replace as there wasn't much room around it. They installed a earthquake strap system to prevent it from falling should an earthquake happen. Once, again the job was done very professionally and neatly. We couldn't be happier with the work Max does. He also installed shutoff valves that are much appreciated.

This was not an easy job.  The bathroom was not big, but the damage was extensive.  The floorboards were sodden and tearing up the floor was worrisome as I know black mold can affect some people adversely.  This project took some time, a lot of which had to do with waiting for the floor to dry to ascertain what the damage was before we proceeded forward.  It's been a year since this job was done, so my memory of the events are not as fresh.  The amount spent is a rough approximate also.  However, the bathroom is beautiful.
Please also note that Max had several other projects he was working on, and he told me ahead of time when he would not be able to come because of previous committments.  I was so miserable with my wet and moldy bathroom that I was more than willing to wait.  The time factor is something you will need to work out with him as he is pretty busy.

He did an excellent job. He asked me every step of the way what I wanted to do. He took his time with the work to make sure it was done right. He only offered recommendations when I asked for them. He made sure all of the tiles were cut perfectly. I am very pleased with his work. Because he is so busy, you do have to be very detailed about when you need him there and why.
