Since the property we purchased was bank-owned, there were a lot of issues along the way and it ended up dragging on for 3 months. When Stacey locked the interest rate for us in May, we thought we would be closing in June. When this didn't happen, the rate lock had to be extended, a cost which she absorbed and handled for us. With all the new financing regulations and changes made recently, I know it created a lot more work for her to get everything in place and she did a wonderful job in explaining all the new rules and making sure we got everything we needed in a timely manner. The real reason the process dragged on for so long was due to the property being flooded while we were under contract and the seller having to replace all the hardwood flooring. By the time we finally were able to close, the interest rate had further dropped and Stacey bought down the rate for us and was able to give us even better terms. She also is very thorough and noticed just before closing that the $5000 of closing costs to be paid by the seller had some additional (and uncommon) stipulations about how the money was used. It was not to be used for escrow setup and since Advantage Financial Services charges such uncommonly low fees, there would have been money left on the table that we couldn't use. Since Stacy caught this prior to closing, she was able to find a way for this money to be used towards interest, which allowed us have an extra month without a house payment. This is the second time I have obtained financing through Advantage Financial Services and would highly recommend them to anyone!! My previous experience was with a refinance, which I was also very pleased with. I really can't say enough about Stacey and her professionalism, especially through this last purchase. Unfortunately, we had a very bad real estate agent and had made the mistake of just going with the selling agent instead of bringing our own representation. I was horrified with how the Realtor behaved and tried to tell me how loans are done and what we needed to do. Thankfully I had a loan officer that had my best interests in mind and kept it all on track, despite a bad Realtor calling and trying to make demands and acting unprofessional.
