They came when they said, and did the work quickly and efficiently. The finished product looks amazing. No bad surprises, but a nice one when they added a couple of bushes without charging more. It took them about 2 days to do the work with a pretty good sized crew.

It went very well. The landscape architect returned all of my calls and text messages promptly. He kept every appointment and arrived on time (in fact usually about 5 minutes early) every time. He took the time to find out our style and listen to our thoughts, and then returned with a great plan that took our ideas and expanded them with his expertise.

In 2012 I used Roth Landscaping for weekly yard maintenance(mowing, trimming, etc). I also had a long list of changes I wanted to make to my whole yard area – front, back, side, lower yard. They made excellent progress on the list – spending between $3,000 and $5,000 for the year. Their work quality was great, you could set your watch to their arrival, the crew was personable, and they worked very hard.
This year, 2013, I wanted to continue the same process. I prepaid for the expected work, also hoping that it might get me a similar, or the same crew. With a new crew, I explained the big picture and provided a list to continue work each week. They showed up the first week, mowed the grass and that's it. I asked them about the list work. After contacting their boss, they said someone would start it the following week. The same crew came the following week and did the first few items and since then no work on the list has been done – once in about six weeks. No call, no contact. Since then, they do come weekly to mow the lawn, but as part of the weekly maintenance, they are supposed to pull weeds, that part doesn't happen.
So I give them high marks for good prices, quality work, and average for punctuality – but, poor marks on responsiveness and professionalism. All told, this job would have been $30,000 plus – and they lost out.

Their service has been good. They get back to us and they have been easy to work with.

I thought they were a little slow getting started but they were finishing up other jobs and got a late start. However, once they got going they worked very fast and very hard. I was very impressed with the staff. I wasn't sure we had a good plan going in (my fault) but once it started to take shape the plan just fell into place. Took a lot of big rocks, tons of mulch, new sod and lots of plants. They really did a nice job. I was impressed that Lance required his folks to 'undo' some of the things they had done while he was not on site. We didn't tell him to, he just did it. He knew it wasn't right and made them redo it.
In the spring - we tackle the waterfall! Can't wait. Will definitely hire Lance (and Roth) to do the work.

I was a little nervous about hiring Roth after reading the F grade review on Angies list from another member. My fears were totally unwarranted. Roth was professional, punctual, fairly priced and delivered far beyond our expectations. All I can say is WOW! Roth led the design and implementation, and was onsite on many occasions to oversee his crew. He is established and been in business for over 20 years: as such he owns all his own equipment and crews and does not need to subcontract. He and his crews are like artists. We now have an amazing backyard that is THE PLACE to hang out in. One guest recently commented to us "your house is like a resort...." and they hadn't even been inside! Do not hesitate to call Roth. He won't be the cheapest, he won't be the most expensive, but he will be the best. Even 1 yr later when I call Roth to discuss a minor detail or fix, he is right on it. This man cares about his clients and his work.

Some of them were huge rocks the size of a Buick. They were just awesome.
