 + -1 moreIt was a terrible experience, He gave a bid then comes back a week later saying he didn't figure the material cost correctly but only gave half the material cost at that time, who does that? As well as wanting another $1,000.00 dollars to do the job, he should know the cost of materials and the cost of his labor with a grand total for the customer. He did some work and was paid $300.00 for those services. He is very unprofessional and he treated us with disrespect upon wanting our refund back as he agreed to. Don't waste your time with Carn Enterprise, hire a real pro instead.

Description of Work: He was on time and extremely nice and listened to what I want done. He broke down the bill like I asked to see if maybe I could go a different direction. I asked for a bid to replace two posts on a patio, chop up the cement and repour it. or maybe leave it for a composite. I hope to maybe do the job this year.

 + -1 moreNo problems. Told me he had another commitment when I called and that he wanted to finish it before starting mine, which I appreciated, since he was then able to concentrate on my job. He fabricated two new wooden pillars that matched the originals very well, and installed them quickly. They're still holding up beautifully.
Description of Work: Replaced two pillars on the back porch that hold up a little extension room and roof over it.

 + -1 morePoor communicator. Did not listen to things we emphasized that he must take into consideration before he started the job and got upset when we told him he had done things wrong that we discussed at the beginning. This is the first time I have dealt with a contractor. If I ever do again, I will spell out all details in the contract before signing it.
Description of Work: Built an addition on our home. Started in July, assured us repeatedly that it could be done by end of September. Had paid him all but the last $2000 and at the end of December we asked for a realistic completion date, he walked off the job. The work he did himself was good quality but he hired some sub-contractors who did very poor quality work. Then, he left us stuck to finish the job ourselves.

Description of Work: Mr Carn came to our house in the fall of 2008 to give an estimate on fixing the railings, floor, and roofing for our balcony. He was not very clear in giving responses to our questions or describing options. He told us he would contact us within several days with estimates. When we didn't hear from him after 2 weeks, my husband called him; he did not even remember our house and said he would have to come out again to look at the work! At that point, we told him to forget it.

 + -1 moreI actually found them through the Better Business Bureau. I thought their work was good and thorough. I really like that he specified what time he would start and finish and he did finish in the timeframe that he gave me. He told me that he only does one job at a time because he likes to focus on what he is doing.
