At first we met with Jesse Curtis who was very positive about our options to refinance our home into a 15 year mortgage. We were interested in a no fee refinance which he assured us was possible through RANlife. While working with Jesse we has a great offer come to us through Mountain America and Wells Fargo. When we informed Jesse at RANlife that we were planning on taking Mountain America's offer he told us they could match their offer without any problem so we turned down Mountain America and stayed with Ranlife.
As time progressed, Ranlife could not keep their promise of matching the offer through Mountain America. We paid a $400 inspection fee with Ranlife that would have been free through Mountain America and when Ranlife ultimately could not match the offer that Mountain America had given us, they would not reimburse the 400$ fee.
We were transferred to a new agent named Scott Weilacher who was terrible to work with. Very poor at returning phone calls and is just like a used car salesman in that he is full of promises never giving us the straight facts. Never once were we told that the refinance was not possible. Our inspection came in lower than what we thought but all along were never told that our refinance would not be possible or that our refinance was contingent upon the inspection. If they had been more honest and up front with us from the beginning, I think it would have been a better experience. From the beginning they were full of promises that they could not keep.
