Dr Downspout Gutter Services Inc - Salt Lake City

I had a scheduled appt. to have gutters cleaned with Dr. Downspout on 10-16-2017 between 10:00am and 12:00pm. Just after 10:00am that day, I called to see if they had a more definitive time frame as to when they will arrive. They called me back and said, "Oh, we're not going to come today, it will have to be next week". When I asked why, they said, "they don't normally do work on Mondays". Well then, why did they schedule me for Monday?! Then, they told me that instead of the $150 to $225 price they quoted me, that the price would be $250 to $350! When I again asked why, they informed me that they looked at my house on Google Maps, and my house was bigger than I said it was. Incredible! My house is a Rambler with 2400sq.ft. on the main level exactly as I told them it was upon our first conversation! But their interpretation of my house on Goole Maps was bigger than what I said it was, and therefore they decided to not show up, and to then raise the price they quoted me. THESE PEOPLE REEK OF INCOMPETENCE! Not only do they promise to be there at an agreed upon time and not show, but they tell the home owner that they know more about the size of the home owners house, than the homeowner does!! I guess that's the scam they pull to rip off the customer. Bid low and get it scheduled, then jack up the price at the last minute. Far too many other Gutter cleaners out there to mess with Dr. Downspout's incompetence!

Looked at options-worker decided on what he felt would work. Very simple solution and so far it has worked.

It went extremely well - professional, prompt contact and scheduling, James was on time and very knowledgeable. The impressive part of this transaction was that a few days later it rained and it appeared that the end cap was still leaking. James returned and discovered the 'leak' was actually a shingle/diverter issue which he fixed and advised me that if it returned to get a roofer to rework the shingle/diverter. When I asked how much I owed for the second visit and work he declined any additional charge. This was completely unexpected, and in my opinion unwarranted. I cannot recommend this business enough. Not because they did not charge for the additional trip and repair but because they take professional ownership of the job and are committed to doing it right. Why would I risk being on my roof when I have a business that cares as much as I do about the work being done? Outstanding.!

Learned a lot. We had been lucky, like a bunch of dummies, we never once considered cleaning gutters in 40 years of various home ownership. We were lucky..until this time. We don't have trees very close to our roof which has worked to our advantage. We didn't realize roof shingles over time tend to release little sand-like pieces which, if dust, water, leaves, etc. gathered with it, can form almost a cement like blockage, basically a dam, resulting in water drainage problems when it rens, particularly heavy rain,

That is what we experienced.

Dr Downspout did an amazing job for the above mentioned work. Jamie was very pleasant, arrived on time and left everything very clean when he left. I would highly recommend Dr Downspout!!!!

So, I called them yesterday (after joining Angie's List to find someone to do the work). Had to leave a message and was pleasantly surprised that they called right back. Oftentimes when you call someone to come help you out with something you can't do yourself, you have to call 20 times to get any response. James came out today, pretty much at the time when he was scheduled. He worked hard, didn't finish until the job was done. I think our gutters were probably worse than he expected but he was pleasant, cheerful, a hard worker and we are very pleased with the work. He even, as a courtesy, used a blower to clean up. I would totally recommend this company. And we will be calling them for our future gutter cleanup.

It went great. We opted to repair some of the things they noted while cleaning and opted not perform others. We felt no pressure at all to complete all of their suggestions. Everyone involved was very nice, professional, and great about explaining what they were doing and why.

Jeremiah and Jamie arrived promptly at the scheduled time. Both were professional and personable. They thoroughly cleaned the debris from our gutters, even clearing out an ant nest that had established itself. In addition, they trimmed a branch that was interfering with the gutter. Afterwards, they cleaned up and left the areas around the house better than they found them. I highly recommend this company and think they deserve an A+ for their service.

Very well. He did an excellent job and was a pleasure to work with.

Exceeded our expectations. He took phone video of our gutters showing all the gunk build up including one place were our gutters had turned into a planter with stuff growing out of it. He also took videos of the places were repairs were needed. He spent the entire day on our roof working and it was raining much of the day. He also cleaned and fixed our spouts. The quality of the work was excellant.

Did a fabulous job!  Lots of trees in our area - so will likely have him back quarterly for gutter cleaning!!
