I used Dave previously for another job and he did excellent work.  The deck had some construction errors but I still would use Dave again.  He was prompt and professional.

Dave and his guys were wonderful and veey polite. He responded to my texts within hours and accommodated my requests when they were feasible. He answered my dozens of questions and while they were here they fixed two other small issues unrelated to the deck. His crew was punctual, polite and tidy. We enjoyed the experience and have asked him to bid on a bathroom remodel.

Everything was done in a professional manner. All workers did their jobs with great skill. Started when said they would and finished on time. Turned out really beautiful. VERY PLEASED!

I honestly hate to throw Dave under the bus because he does seem like a nice guy.  That said, however, he did not supervise his workers and it cost me a lot more in the long run.  I am a structural engineer and gave him a plan of what I wanted and how it should be done.  His guys laid out the foundations.  I thought they didn't look straight (they weren't) and he said that he'd "have his guys string line them" and fix them.  I saw a string but they must have not used it because they poured and every foundation was off from 1" to 10".  This is a big deal when pouring foundations.  They also encased my sprinklers in concrete because they didn't put plywood forming to form the tops of the foundations.  After the pour, they came in and started to build the deck and notch the posts that support the deck.  This might be fine for him but I specifically asked him not to do it and it happened anyway.  At that point, I realized the foundations were off because of where the posts were sitting.  The posts were in the right spots but the foundations were off.  That's when I decided to fire Dave's Construction because of all the hassle.  I had to jackhammer out the concrete, buy some new posts, and do the deck myself.  I wish everything would have gone perfect because I didn't have the time to finish.  The deck is almost done now but every time I think of this experience it p***** me off.  If you hire Dave's, I would have him on the job all the time to supervise his workers.  He seems knowledgeable but he doesn't listen to requests and just likes to do it his way.

Dave was much more responsive than other contractors when it came to follow up. They worked very quickly and kept things clean. They were friendly and professional. All of the subs did great work. The end result is awesome. They answered all of our many questions promptly.

Very well.  He made sure each part of the job was done right.  He ensured that all the subcontractors did a quality job.  For example he had them take the roofing materials back because they were not a match and had them redo the stucko to ensure it matched the home.  He paid attention to the details.
