work was done quickly and even went beyond by cleaning all our gas hoses behind our equipment.
Great price
I woke up one morning, jumped in the shower, and it was lukewarm. I assumed that my husband had somehow used all the hot water that morning until I got home that night from work and found the water was cold out of the hot water taps. We've been between plumbers for a while, so I pulled some names off Angies List after checking the cost of replacement through the local Home Depot and Lowes (they both wanted well over $1000 for replacement. I called Overall, left a message, and they called the next morning and agreed to come out that day. The plumber arrived on time, checked out the old heater (which was about 10 years old), and told me that a new thermocouple might fix it. He replaced the part, and the heater began working -- $150 trip charge. About 4 hours later, I turned on the tap in the kitchen, and the water was lukewarm again. I called -- of course it was right after 5 pm and their office was closed. I left a fairly pitiful message on their voicemail, and one of the plumbers actually called me back that evening. They told me that if thermocouple wasn't the issue, I'd probably need a new water heater. I whined a bit (two days of cold showers will do that to you) and they agreed to bring a new water heater out the next morning. Plumber showed up as promised, wrestled the old heater out, installed the new one, and was out in a couple of hours. They gave me credit for the first trip since it didn't fix the problem.
I called them again about 2 weeks later because the sink drain wasn't draining well. They sent someone out in short order, snaked the drain from the roof, and it's worked great since. They seem like a competent and reliable group -- they are not cheap, but decent workmanship and reliability cost money. I'll take competence and fair value over cheap any day.
One final note, when we were discussing the water heater replacement, I asked about replacement with a tankless water heater. The plumber explained to me that while the concept is attractive, it wouldn't be the best option for our house -- I don't mean he voiced his opinion, I mean he explained it to me, for about 5-10 minutes, in enough detail that I feel certain that he saved us quite a bit of money and trouble. I also talked to him about replacing some drain pipes, and he convinced me that it would be an unnecessary expenditure. So, they could have made substantially more business and money from their three trips out so far but chose to give me good advice instead. I appreciate that.
Regarding the water lines and plumbing vent, they were careful to put nail guards over the lines and pipes so that when I enclose the laundry area and drywall I won't risk damaging any of the plumbing work.
The process from start to finish was three days. This involved the time for the city to perform the inspection before the drain line was back filled. They left the work site completely cleaned up. They were mindful of my pets, my time, and my home.
As a result of their work, I can now park both my cars in my garage.
I am very pleased with the company and will use them again in the future.
Scott and friends at Overall Plumbing tracked down each issue and worked it until it was right & safe for our family.
The work was above and beyond during the hottest part of a Texas summer. Communication and scheduling remained stellar thru the entire process even during nights, weekends and emergency situations. They helped us make the best of a difficult situation.
They were prompt in their service and did a good job. The price was better than the initially quoted price. DId a professional job. They had to work arounthe schedule of another contractor which they did.
