Montgomery HVAC Service Co

I've used Montgomery for several years. They are ultra-fast in response time, which is great if there's an emergency. They can adjust schedules to fit the customer's needs and the service people are efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. Most importantly, these people are fair and do great work for a reasonable price. They're our go-to for heat and air problems!

I used Montgomery because they were referred by my home warranty service company. Started out OK but ended up fixing the original problem and causing another problem that is yet to be fixed. The original problem was that the furnace would sometimes not blow warm air when turned on. On the second service call the service tech found that the furnace control panel and the ignition switch needed replacing.  After replacing these parts the furnace would now blow warm air but now the furnace will NOT always come on correctly. When the furnace does come on it blows warm air but there are numerous times when setting the thermostat to cause the furnace to come on it may take up to 2 hours for the furnace to start,  After coming out 3 more times to see if he could find the newly created problem Montgomery HVAC apparently told the home warranty they had fixed the original problem and apparently not responsible for the new problem of the furnace not coming on sometimes. This new problem had not existed until Montgomery HVAC replaced the control panel and ignition switch.  The first service call by Montgomery HVAC was on 1/15/16 and their last service to my house was on 2/1/2016, I have been assigned a new heating/air service company by my home warranty and they have yet to find the problem created by Montgomery HVAC  I will never use Montgomery HVAC again..

So happy to have found Montgomery HVAC!  Our upstairs A/C unit failed over the weekend and I had put in a service request online with another A/C company.  When I didn't receive a call from them by noon on Monday I called them and was told they didn't have any availability until the following Monday.  I said no thanks, it's 90 degrees upstairs in my house.  I called Montgomery next and Betty said she could have someone out that day but it would probably not be until the evening.  Dwayne was here by 5 and quickly diagnosed the problem.  We knew our units were original to the house and it was better to replace rather than repair.  He quoted us a new unit and we agreed to an installation on Wednesday.  Wednesday rolled around and a huge storm with lightning came too.  Betty called me to say they would not be able to install that day.  I was not surprised and it wasn't a problem with me.  I wouldn't want to be working with electricity in the rain either!  The installation crew was out bright and early on Thursday morning and got it done quickly and easily (maybe not so much for them, I'm sure that attic area was scorching). 
I'm very happy with the service I received from everyone at Montgomery HVAC, I'll be calling them for all of my HVAC needs. 

Steve showed up on time and was very knowledgeable. He repaired the unit quickly and charged me less than I expected. I will definitely use him again.

Prompt, courteous technition fixed all problems.

They did a great job. I am going to use them from now on. Compared to the prior company that we used to use, they are a lot more affordable. The technician was also able to give me information on annual maintenance plans with them. The technician was very personable, easy to talk to, and explained things in layman's terms. They showed up on time and did everything that they needed to do. They didn't leave any mess behind.

Arrived on time and had to go an get a part. We live in the country and he went and returned quickly. This was important because the outside temp was more than 100! This is the third time we have used Montgomery and are very pleased with their work.

The service man was very competent, worked steady while here, and found no problems. One important point is that he did not try to sell us any extras, upgrades, etc., which seems to be the norm when we have our units inspected annually. It was appreciated. We would use this company if we did have any problems.

Scott and Dwayne were awesome. I submitted a service ticket on a Saturday to my home warranty company. Montgomery called me on Monday for a Tuesday appointment. On Tuesday, Scott was early - he opened up the unit and quickly diagnosed the problems with my unit. He worked with my warranty company to ensure that the unit was replaced instead of being patched up again for the umpteenth time. He was back out on Thursday and had the unit replaced, running and the worksite cleaned up (including hauling off the old unit) within 2 hours. They were pleasant, personable and professional, and answered all my questions. I will definitely request them specifically for future home warranty calls, and I will use them for regular service calls as well!

It went well. I thought the A/C unit was going out and he could have sold me a brand new unit but he looked it over and told me it was working just fine. He is very honest, punctual and professional. I would use him again in the future. I would recommend him to anyone.

I can always count on Scott and his team. He replaced 2 HVAC systems for us last fall. We love them. Our summer electric bills are way down. I called and asked for someone to come look at it...Scott came the very next day and fixed it. The units are under warranty, so there was no charge.

The first time we use Montgomery HVAC Service was on
a Friday in the summer of 2010. We had come home and walked into a house that
wasn't cooling. We called Montgomery HVAC Service on a Friday afternoon and
Scott was there within the hour. The bad news for us is that our system was
toast. Scott gave us an estimate on what the repair would be and ensured us
that it would be done the next day. His workers showed up the next morning and
replaced our system with a professional and courteous attitude. About a week
later, the A/C system wasn't cooling properly, so I called and again within the
hour, Scott came out and checked the system out and made minor adjustments, and
I haven’t had a problem since.
The system that was installed, “ROCKSand quot;, it will freeze you out in the
summer and heat you up in the winter. I have a 2300 sq. foot house and they installed
an American Heritage 15; 4 ton unit. It has been close to 2 years since I have
had it replaced, and the savings that I have every month on my utilities bills
have come close to paying for itself. I have used them for routine maintenance
on my system and the technicians that came out again were very professional, on
time and courteous. I have called Scott on several occasions to ask questions
and he has always been willing to assist me with answering my questions.
Overall, I have nothing but great things to say about Montgomery HVAC Service
and their staff. And as the saying goes, you get what you pay for, and with
this company it’s nothing but top quality and service. I will highly recommend them to anyone and
they can use me as a reference at any time.

It was really nice and they seemed like good, honest folks. I thought their price was a little bit high, but the other guy who came out wasn't that much less.

Our 11 year old AC unit bit the dust last fall. We were surprised to see the high cost of replacement from other competitors. We like working with Scott and Linda at Montgomery ACand Heating. We've had a service contract with them since we moved to Richardson, TX; about 2 years. Scott's price was competitive with the others, though not the rock bottom price we saw with one. We never go rock bottom, since you never know what you will get. Scott suggested a 16 seer 2 cycle AC unit...we purchased 2! Both the major units in the house were going. So we received 2 AC units with natural gas furnaces and a number of upgrades for the price listed above.The workers were helpful to me, efficient in getting the work complete! It was so nice to have AC again! Our electric bills have been reduced by 40%!

a/c compressor developed noisy operation from last summers heat. I called montgomery after checking Angie and their top pick referred me to them because they only do installations. Mrs. Montgomery took my call at 7pm wed. and set up a time at my convenience (5pm-7pm thur.) , at 5:15 thur.they call to let me know the service man was stuck in traffic but would be there as quickly as possible. A very polite man (dewayne) showed up at 5:20 and checked evrrything out from A to Z and told me nothing was wrong. Actually the a/c worked fine but the compressor noise had me concerned. I have done a/c repair myself in days gone by, so I know a good repairman when I see one. Why in this world would they ever get a low rating on Angies is beyond me.

Heat Pump Replacement Project - Instead of limping through another summer with an old (13yr) inefficient heat pump, I requested bids from a couple of local HVAC contractors. Montgomery was my first call, as she was quite please with a couple of emergency service calls after this summer's blackouts ate my heat pump's starting capacitor and fan. I also called another local vendor who I've had good work from in the past - he was transitioning his business to another in preps for retirement. Anyway, to make a long story short - Montgomery underbid the other contractor enough to win the project. Since we liked Scott and Linda's approach, it was pretty much a no-brainer.

Quality of work is excellent. Customer Service was outstanding. The negative review of this husband/wife team is hard to believe.

This company inspected the unit three times within the last 10 months. On the first occasion (May, 2010) they inspected, serviced and cleaned the unit. On the second occasion (Aug, 2010) they returned when the unit quit cooling and they inspected and serviced the unit. Finally, the third time (March 2011) when the unit again quit cooling they inspected and found the condenser coil was blocked. They determined this was due to lack of maintenance. I informed them that they had done an inspection and cleaning of the unit in May and didn’t report any issues with the coil. They suggested that even though the manufacturer suggest an annual service, they believe it should be done twice a year and therefore were not responsible for my blocked coil. In my opinion, I paid good money in May to have the unit inspected and serviced. I would have expected Montgomery to have done more to make sure the unit was in good working condition and if they had found additional issue to bring them to my attention in May. Furthermore, once I called again on the unit in August, they still didn’t report anything about the condenser coil. I depend on them to bring issue to my attention before they cause bigger issues. That is why I paid to have the unit professionally serviced.
