The painters were professional and timely.

They got the job done at the estimated price and the house looks very good, so no problems there. My issues with Five Star are in the details, and are as follows: sometimes the painter showed up before 8, sometimes he showed up at 10, except for the day they cancelled for rain there was never any communication about when, or if, someone would be on my property; there were a few touch up jobs to do, I returned home from a business trip to find they hadn't been done yet, when I inquired, it turns out the painter's truck had been broken down all week. That's generally not a problem if someone had let me know, but no one knew about that all week?; The quote promises "professional cleanup" and either that was not done or their idea of professional cleanup is different that mine. I had a lot of paint chipping, so I can understand not getting all of it, but I would assume a professional cleanup would include removing at least some of it. I'm trying to put my house on the market and now I'm spending my time sweeping paint chips off my patio. Also, I have a small area of paint in my sidewalk and a streak of paint through my grass All in all, the job got done and I have no complaints with the quality overall, but with the number of painters available in the Metroplex, I think I could find someone else next time to cover the details better.

We found Five Star Painting on Angie’s List. It was a three-day job on a house we hadn't moved into yet. I will start by saying the crew was friendly, punctual, and professional. My "ratings" are not for the painters per se, but for the overall negative experience; namely the in my opinion abysmal customer service provided by their management. The evening of day two I went to the house to lock up after the painters were gone and I noticed small drops of gray paint all over the carpet in the rooms they had painted. I called the supervisor Oscar and told him about it and he assured me that they could easily clean it up at the end of the job. The next and final day I stopped there after work and saw even more paint spots than I had seen the previous night. One of the painters asked me to put a small piece of blue painting tape down wherever I saw paint. I thought this was a strange request but I did it because I didn't want them to miss any spots. There were over 100. They asked me to come back 2 hours later. When I returned they said they had sprayed a product called "Oops" and scrubbed all the spots and many of the areas were still damp. They said when the spots dried they would be paint free. The walls looked decent and they assured me if we found any other problems they would return. The next week we moved in and discovered that many of the spots they had "scrubbed" were still dark marks or smears of lighter gray. I called Oscar and then after several calls to the office spoke to one of the owners Mike. Mike pretty much just told me he didn't know all the details about my situation but sometimes it happens and they paint 1000 houses a year and they know how to get paint out of carpet. We agreed that they would come back the following Saturday to work on the spots for the second time. I moved furniture around in the rooms and for the second time put down small pieces of blue painter’s tape (photos). Over 50 spots. Three guys came out this time and worked on the spots again for 2 full hours. They used a Bissell carpet cleaning spray this time. I won't keep you in suspense because I'm sure you know where this is going.....they did not get all the spots out. That was two weeks ago. Since then I have called the supervisor and left a message on his cell and left two messages with the office for the owners. No one has gotten back to me. So in summary, I paid 2700 dollars for professional painters to get paint spots all over the carpet in every room they painted. After 4 hours of spraying chemicals and scrubbing, there are still numerous spots. I received no apology from the owner, no one called to follow up on how the second cleaning session went, and now they will not take my calls or return my messages. I hope the other 999 houses they paint this year will fare better than mine did. Please note, these photos were taken before the second cleaning, so the spots had already been "worked on" with chemicals and scrub brushes for 2 hours prior to this. I included some pictures with the blue tape I put down for them to show the wide distribution.

I have used Five Star painting before with good results. When I found the damage at a vacated rental property I call them and scheduled an appointment for Saturday afternoon. The estimator was on time and gave me a fair quote considering I knew the job would take two days due to the time required to properly complete the sheet rock repairs. They scheduled the job for the following Thursday. On Tuesday I received a call and was told if it worked for me, they could start the job a day early which was perfect for my schedule. The painters and project manager showed up at the time agreed to and the job was completed on Thursday just as scheduled. The repairs, texture matching and painting were completed with excellent results (see pictures of before and after on the ceiling repair and texture matching.) The estimator, job manager and painter all treated me very professionally. Five Star painting represents everything that is right with American small business. They are not like other companies that give the contractors a bad name. This is the way all business should be conducted with both parties winning.

It went very well. The painters were professional and addressed all of our needs. I would highly recommend them to friends and family.

They finished the work in one day, but had to come back and redo the crown molding the next day. They also touched up some areas. Great job overall and very reasonably priced.

I'm very happy-Omar did a great job, was through and when a problem occurred (texture fall off @ paint tree), he redid the texture & paint to make it took great. End result looks great. Very tidy.
