Matt Russel was amazing, fast, and clean. Our house has had a lot of weird problems from previous owners that we've been working on upgrading as we go. Matt came out to fix a new problem with a leaking outside faucet and look at an old problem we hadn't bothered fixing for years. The old problem was another outdoor faucet that broke during a freeze but leaked into the house when it was on. Matt immediately knew what to do about it. And he even put back the brick and siding he had to go through to replace the broken pieces. It looked amazing and everything works again! The prices were reasonable as well compared to other quotes I had. He showed me the before and after results and talked me through any follow ups that might be needed for the siding. Great experience.

The project is still in process but the 1st two leaks were repaired from the outside so I'm fairly confident the inside 3rd leak will be completed successfully also. Alan has been wonderful as far as first impression, visit and the actual repairs. This was my second estimate and I felt he was honest about the work needed and confident in his experience in describing my options. My suggestions may be more for the company/office standards in that anytime there are sub-contractors sent out; I think it would be appropriate for someone actually from Blue Star-clerk, customer service, supervisor anyone to still call the customer on that day to say "hey, we know you're having digging today and we're here for you as our customer." or simply "How's it going ? Do you have any questions?" My Spanish isn't what it used to be and theirs was limited so the day of the digging I felt Blue Star wasn't represented. The day of the inside project, the sub-contractors came unprepared to cover even the working area inside so didn't get started until almost 10:00 because they had to leave to go get tarp. This is not an everyday thing for most homeowners so I didn't know I should have asked for everything in the outer room to be covered too. Dust everywhere outside of the bathroom. I think there is a space for a suggestion sheet prior to inside drilling to be emailed or handed to the homeowner about what to expect or what we can do to prepare. None of the sub-contractors had on masks (which at the least should have been acknowledged by Blue Star).I also should have been told how many people to expect in the house as a matter of pandemic courtesy. A third man came by the house in their company truck. They proceeded to laugh and talk in the hallway while one was still digging. I asked him to step outside if they needed to talk to limit the number of maskless workers in my house. I know the work has to be done and it's not pretty, but letting the customer know you understand they may feel vulnerable about their home undergoing surgery is where Blue Star has an opportunity to provide exceptional customer handling and separate itself from companies that make you feel like you're just another job.

The electric water heater needed a board to be replaced. However, the technician suggested heater replacement instead of repair and submitted the request for warranty company approval with multiple "modification" requests which were not covered by the company and cost $825. I was told that electrical wiring, hot/cold plumbing/TP need necessary modifications. I wasn't present and trusted the technician's assessment. The technician insisted on having payment in advance. After completing the job,  I realized, there were no real "modifications" necessary. It was all installation process where old heater connections (electric and water) were disconnected and the new heater was connected. In reality, they charged the warranty company for installation and me for "modification" which is standard installation process (eclectic connection, water connection, etc). It is called double dipping and accounts for highly deceptive business practice and plainly fraud. I paid for warranty coverage, service call, and again for installation "modifications".

Blue Star, and Alan Setter in particular, always provide quality plumbing repairs in a professional manner. Alan keeps us informed about the progress as well as educating us about what caused the problem and how to avoid it in the future. I spent 45 min. on hold with AHS just to have Blue Star repair our leak. We appreciate the scheduler for assigning it to Alan as requested. Thanks to everyone for taking care of us, again.
