We choose Mardo because he was willing to work with us and wanted to make sure we were happy with everything - and at the end of the day we were. He has a small staff (2 others) so our job took about 3 weeks, as we had over 150 liner ft of retaining walls put in as well as 1400 sq ft center island completely ripped out and replanted. His staff hand dug all the sod out where the new beds were going to go - removing around the top 4-6" of soil and took it to my back lot and filled in low spots (this is great as opposed to sod cutters that just remove the top layer of sod and leave all the roots to grow back a month later). They removed all existing plants to amend the beds, leaving large root balls on the plants, stacked them together, and watered daily. We reused most of them and gave the rest to are neighbors. Some of the sprinkler heads had to be moved which was part of the deal, and they verified all the sprinkler heads worked at the end of the project. We had one issue where his team put up retaining wall where we hadn't plan, but once it was up we really liked it (he ate the cost for the wall and offered to remove it). We were on-site the day the plants arrived and layed everything out to our liking. A couple of items were planted to low, but they were quick to fix. Mardo and his employees were very nice and trustworthy (he never uses day laborers). As we live out in the country I left the door to my shop unlocked for them to have access to a bathroom, and gave them access to my lawn tractor and trailer for hauling material. I had no worries about them coming and going, and when they left for the day they made sure to clean up the equipment, put it away and lock up. Overall we were very pleased with the outcome, and so were our neighbors.
