Frazier Lawn Service & Landscaping

I contacted Edgar with Frazier Lawn Service to have him provide me with a price to clean up my backyard, mow and weed eat. We had a storm come through and a tree had fallen down in our backyard. The tree had already been cut up and removed, however there were a few branches and alot of little pinecones and some bark that was still in the backyard. Also because it had taken 2 weeks to get the tree out of the yard, the grass (more weeds than grass) had grown up in the backyard. Normally this is something my husband would take care of, but he had been out of town, and I am a cancer patient and cannot do this type of work especially in the heat like that. I explained all of that to Edgar and he said no problem. He came out and I showed him the tree bark and pine cones that had been blown in my yard from the recent storm as well as the left-over limbs from a tree that had fallen in the yard. Edgar volunteered additional information that they could clean all of that up and take away, PLUS cut down some brush close to my fence (3' - 4' tiny "trash trees" less than my pinky finger in diameter), mow, weed eat AND spray round-up for $120.00. I had received a variety of estimates between $100 and $150, but decided to use Frazier because I had used them in the past to do regular yard work. I did express my concern that the workers were not English speaking so I wanted to ensure appropriate communication. Edgar assured me he would communicate with them and that someone on the crew spoke English. After they arrived, they got to work and Edgar left them by themselves. After about 30 - 40 minutes someone came to the door saying that they were done and wanted to be paid. Because I had been watching them out the window, and could see "a mess' where they had weed eated right out my french doors, I asked him if he had been told to clean-up. He acted like he did not understand what I was saying and it was difficult to understand him. I told them to hang on and I went out in the backyard. While they had mowed and weed eated, none of the debris had been raked up, there were still some branches around and all the grass clippings were all over my porch, deck, walkway, etc. and no one had sprayed round-up at all. I told the guy to hang on and I called Edgar. I explained to him the problem, and he said not to worry that he would call them and explain to them what they needed to do (of course, I had been told that they knew what to do before he left). I hung up and told them Edgar would be calling. After about 5 minutes I went in the backyard and they were raking. I thought that they were completing the job. After about 20 minutes, someone knocked on the door and said they were done and they were going to the front and to give them the check then. I said ok and put my shoes on. Before going to the front, I went again to the back and was astonished to find such a poor job. Branches, bark and pine cones were still all over my yard. Additionally, instead of pulling out the little trash trees that had grown they had just weed eated some around that area. They had only partially weed eated around the trampoline and weeds were still growing. There was grass clippings still all over everything, and you could tell where they had missed spots sporadically all over the yard. Additionally, I found where they had completely whacked up a small palm and had just left everything lying there. And no round-up had been sprayed anywhere. I was so disappointed! I went around to the front yard, and they were already packing up and some were already in the truck ready to go. I made the decision at that time to just pay them the $120 and take it up with Edgar, as they seemed to have no pride in their work at all and just wanted to get in and get out...................... I tried to call Edgar and got voice mail. Instead of leaving a message, I decided to go out and take pictures and email them to him. I took pictures and emailed them with my concerns. Two days later, I have yet to hear one word from him. Besides having a dissatisfied customer, they will be losing the possibility of a regular customer again. Had they done good work for me out there, I was thinking about trying to have them come out again to do my bi-weekly regular service as it is sometimes hard for my husband to get to since he works out of town. But that will not happen now. I have been a member of Angie's List for a few year's now. I have written quite a few reviews. This is only the 2nd review I have ever given a poor review for and the first that I have had to provide a review for where I received poor work.
