The owner of the business was the one who came out and did the work with a helper. After about two weeks the color began to peel off. They came back and repeated the same process, with the same results. After each treatment we waited a week before using the shower, although we were told 48 hours was the usual. The problem never was resolved and when I sold the house two years later I was not using the shower because the "paint" was peeling.

I contacted Hard Tops of Wichita Falls to refinish an antique cast iron clawfoot bathtub. My contractor delivered the tub to the "business" which was located at his house. I was told it would take approximately 4 weeks to finish the work of refinishing the tub. I was notified 9 weeks later that my bathtub was ready. When I went to pick it up he gave me feet for the tub that were not mine. When I questioned him he said one of mine broke so he replaced them for me for "free". He made several rude comments and I felt very uncomfortable in his presence so I left with the tub. Once at home I contacted my contractor immediately and told him about the feet. He came and looked at them and told me they were not the same quality as my feet had been and began trying to call the business. The phone was not answered. He left several messages. I emailed the business and called with no luck at getting a response. When no response was received the next day I stopped payment on my check I had given. The business owner then contacted me. I told him that the feet were not the same quality as mine. That I wanted my three feet back and the fourth foot to be replaced by him. In addition, the tub still had rust places on it and areas that were not coated, with the metal showing through. I wanted those to be fixed. He came out to my house the following day to bring me my feet and fix the tub. He gave me my three feet but refused to replace the fourth foot. He stated that would be my responsibility, it was my tub. He spray painted the metal showing and stated "you can't remove all the rust". He asked for another check being I had stopped payment of the other. I told him I would not give him another check until I had the replacement foot. He began yelling at me and left slamming my front door so hard it flew back open and hit the wall. I immediately contacted the better business bureau. I had to order a replacement foot that cost 150.00. When it came in my contractor moved the tub into the bathroom to install it. It was then he realized this tub was longer than the tub I had originally and the original feet did not fit the tub properly because of that. My tub had been in a recessed area in the bathroom and this longer tub would not fit in the space. The business owner was contacted and he refused to speak to me. I was out additional cost because my contractor had to remove a wall and move the wall back 1/2 a foot to make the tub fit. My tub had been 4 1/2 foot and I received a 5 foot tub.
The BBB listened to the case and stated I still owed him for the services provided. They stated I did not have enough evidence about the quality of services or the tub size difference. They did not come to the house and look at the tub. I was told if I had problems with the finish of the tub the business would fix the problems.
At this time the tub had been installed so the owner had to come to my house. He again brought spray paint and spray painted the areas. I since this time have had to pay to have the tub refinished.
