I had three companies quote the job - 2 with carrier and 1 with American Standard products. I selected Ferguson Veresh based on a slight cost advantage and a significant responsiveness edge.
I replaced a 2-zone system ( 2-ton and 2.5 ton units) with a single zone, 5-ton unit. This allowed me to replace the entire plant at one time instead of doing it over two years.
The install went as scheduled. The job involved more work than was estimated, and ran over two days. The estimator called and told me he had under-estimated the ducting problems significantly and had run over by around $2000, and asked if we could split the difference. I agreed. It's an old house (87 years old) and you never know what you'll find.
For a couple of weeks we lived with a huge split in temperatures between the upstairs and downstairs. Talking to the estimator, he suggested we block off the upstairs registers. This worked - somewhat - but the air whistled through the registers and my wife was very annoyed by this.
After about two weeks, the company ran into a slow day. Without our asking, they asked to come over to the house and tune the ducts to give a better air split between the various rooms. This was done in about 3-4 hours, and the results have been very much better.
Bad - Estimating oversight ran the job up by $1000.
Good - They don't forget about you when they drive away.
On the whole, I was not disappointed by them at all.
