COOL-TEMP SIDING CO

This job was completed in August of 2016. Initially the job took over a month for the employee to complete. One piece of drip edge was missing and CoolTemp would not get us the piece. We had to purchase it from another vendor even though contract read they would supply all materials. Gutters and drip edge were incorrectly installed, but we didn’t notice it until we began getting rain in this west Texas town. Cool Temp pressured us to sign off on the job while gutters were still being installed, and we did not get to inspect finished product....our fault for letting them pressure us, but we thought they were an honest, trustworthy company and would stand by their product and installation. There is actually no problem with the product, just the installation. Every time it rains the water pours between the gutter and the fascia getting me wet as I walk out of my door. After having it inspected, it was found that the drip edge raises the shingles up approximately 1 inch above the roof allowing the water to run back onto the roof and behind the gutter damaging the decking. After repeated calls to CoolTemp Siding, we have been met with repeated replies that we signed off on it so it must be ok. Now, we will have to have the gutters taken down and reinstalled by another contractor. Please take this as your warning to be cautious of who you do business with and make sure the job is inspected by an independent contractor before you sign off on it. Only one person spoke English. Workmanship was whatever they could get away with. The person that gave me the bid on the job was a big fat zero!!! those are the details.

There were two guys, who arrived later that promised. The job took almost two weeks because one guy fell off a ladder, and the company did not have enough employees to send a replacement. The one guy took a long time, his cuts were sloppy, and he got distracted. I had to supervise a lot in order to keep the guy on task. He also cut the telephone line, which had to be repaired by the phone company. After the recent hail storm, I found out the alleged "lifetime warranty" was only for siding, not trim or other parts, and the warranty only cover parts so they try to gouge you again with the labor, which was the worst part of the deal. I will have my repairs done by another company because of this company's failure to honor its "warranty" that it touts as a sales plus. Don't trust them as they misrepresent the warranty that comes with the product and installation.

They were quick and the windows they installed save me over $150 a month in utilities. They are air tight. It only took them a half a day to install the windows. The siding they installed is steel and requires no painting, only need to wash it off. It has also helped keep the utility bill down by keeping the house warm/cool because they installed insulation behind the siding.

I called Cool Temp to come out and give me an estimate to side my home. Eddie McAlvain Jr. the owner's son came out and give me the estimate. He was on time and very professional. He did not pressure me into making and decision and was very good at explaining the difference between steel siding and vinyl siding. He explained the entire process and what I was to expect during the process of the my job. The contract was very detailed and explained in writing what they were going to do. It took about a month before they called me and said they were coming to get started on my job. The crew that they sent was very good. They stayed on the job for the most part except when one of the guys got sick. They were off for two days but called me and let me know what was going on. They did an excellent job on my house and very very good at the detail work. The crew was very polite and cleaned up their mess every day before they left. Overall I had a very good experience throughout the entire process.
