Plumbing for a Remodel or Addition - Install
I want to give a HUGE shout out to the entire Aqueduct plumbing team! The people I spoke with all are very respectful and professional people. Specifically, Billy (owner) called me to take corrective action when I needed it the most, Jessica (Office personnel) certainly helped by understanding my needs and helping by providing great information and coordination. Wilmer (Supervisor) he was able to break the horrendous blockage that the main issue stemmed from. Carlos (Technician) was dispatched on a follow up visit to ensure the job was done throughly. Thank you Aqueduct Plumbing for your great service and professional help.

They will not complete the job but want to be paid in full. They installed rusted parts, mismatched knobs, broke through the tile wall in both showers (only had permission to break through one), didn't patch hole in master shower, fell through ceiling patched it themselves you can tell, trying to hire a professional company to redo the ceiling they won't pay the full cost, numerous scratches in bathroom marble countertop, hole in siding didn't fill where outside hose reel connects to house, broke brass pipe replaced with chrome i want brass, not normal water pressure in hall bath, water comes out with strong pressure then decreases to width of pencil so you have to keep turning the knob to maintain the pressure they won't fix blaming it on the diverter for the showerhead. Outside hose reel also had pressure problems water would come out then stop then start. Their sheetrock crew left a mess across my driveway, back door and front door areas which i had to clean up and many other areas in the house. They said they would clean up the mess but never did. They asked me to contact another plumbing company to repair their errors yet they still want me to pay them in full. They refuse to come out and make things right. I supplied the insulation in the attic I want to be reimbursed. The ceiling and insulation fell on my sofa and computer equipment. Very rude to me on the phone. Said i could replace the bathroom countertop for $100 by ordering through the internet. I asked them for the website they refused. They know i cannot replace the countertop at that price. They said they knew someone who could repair the ceiling for $400. I asked for the contact information. They refused. They only want to pay me $400 for the ceiling repair. I cannot get a quote below $700.
Response from Aqueduct Plumbing Company LLC

"The homeowner is correct about us stepping through her ceiling. I apologized profusely and paid a sheetrcoker $350 to fix it. The homeowner did not like the work and said she could have it done by someeone she knows for $250. I showed up at her house with a check for that amount and she said it had gone up to over $900. That is how everything seems to be going here. There are no straight conversations, it is like everything is a diversion so that we can't actually get over and be done. The last appointment to address any concerns was cancelled by the homeowner. I have e-mail after e-mail where I state our desire to wrap everything up. In the pircutre you see there is rust on that brass fitting that she keeps saying is chrome. We want to replace that. She is saying that the green on the hose bib pipe exiting the wall needs to be removed. The greern is the flux solvent that you need to apply before soldering so that a proper seal is made which would be covered by insullation if we were ever able to get back over there."

Great! Considering the flood in Houston a few weeks ago, they promptly came out the day after I called. Their office is probably 50 miles from my home, but they never said anything. The man was very professional and efficient. He mentioned they have a large company and they never have to advertise. They do not do construction work.

The plumbing itself went well, overall. We have noticed a big difference over the rust-filled, ~40 year old iron pipe and are generally happy with the plumbing work. It has now been a few months (so I'll write a review now) and we have had no major issues. There were problems on installation, however. One of the workers broke a handmade ceramic mug of my wife's, which wouldn't have been a problem (stuff happens, and ceramic is fixable) but the worker swept up all the pieces and hid them in the garbage can in the garage. As if we wouldn't notice that it was missing. The worker who ran the lines in the attic partially crushed three ventilation pipes. It looks like he sat or stepped on them. One will have to be replaced or repaired as it is now half its original diameter. A 2x4 was broken off in the attic, too. It was non-structural and no big deal, but the workers never made any mention of it. And we have damage to two wooden floors with damage from flooding, as well. For one of these, a pipe leaked after installation and the company was quick and responsive about fixing the pipe. For the other, one of the workers cut a pressurized PEX line while distracted on his cell phone and soaked the floor in my office. Neither of these did enough damage to really concern me, but given the other incidents I have to wonder if they would have told me about the office if I hadn't been in the house at the time it happened. Finally, the workers broke a solid wood closet door off of its hinges. There's no way they didn't notice, but never said a word to me. Now that I've had these pipes for a while, I should have asked for different outside fittings but it doesn't look like I can change them out easily with the PEX pipe. This has nothing to do with the business but is free advice for anyone looking at PEX re-piping. Make sure you have the fittings you want before install. In short, the plumbing seems to be okay so far. But the workers were like bulls in a china shop and I don't intend to call them back.
Response from Aqueduct Plumbing Company LLC

"I hate to say that I was not aware of any of these issues. How totally unacceptable. Please know that we will address everything and I am truly sorry for this negative experience."

He went through the kitchen sink to unstop the drain. Within 3 weeks the drain was stopped up again. I called a different company to resolve the problem after that.
Response from Aqueduct Plumbing Company LLC

"I wish you would have called us back out, ma'am! We would have given it another shot. Stoppages can be tricky. Sometimes you can actually "push" through a blokcage to create a pathway for temporary relief without realizing that the main obstruction wasn't cleared."

It's been over a month since Aqueduct Plumbing installed my tankless water heater so I have given the system some time for testing and feel it's time to write this review.
It's been a pleasure dealing with this company. Owner Billy is easy to communicate with. Price is competitive, staff is punctual, hard-working, quality of work is great. They also cleaned up after the work. Installing the tankless water heater is one of the best home improvement decisions I have made. Aqueduct has been professional since I contacted them and put my mind at ease by listening to and addressing all my needs and concerns. This has made my decision-making process easy. I am enjoying the new system now and don't need to worry again about running out of hot water or having a water damage in attic.
I would also like to give some credit to my neighbors who recommended Aqueduct Plumbing in the beginning.

Re-pipe job went smoothly.  Minimal disruption to my life.  A couple of minor issues came up after completion of the job, and Billy sent someone out right away to fix the problem.
Plumbing line replacement took a bit longer, but that's only because there was approx. 150 feet of trenching around my house, plus more tunneling under the foundation.  I'm happy with the results, and impressed with how punctual the workers were and how hard they worked.

Shower handle broke off after morning shower, left water (hot) running. Have home warranty. Do not use Home Protect Warranty, but that is a different story. After having water running for day and half (main water valve also not working, couldnt shut off), called Aqueduct, Billy had someone come out that afternoon. Quickly diagnosed problems, and quoted me 247 to replace valve. I thought price a bit high for the work, but I didnt have time to compare. He had to run to Home Depot to get part. Came back later, took a few trials to install part but done. Had valve working. He could not get original handle off one part (old handle chrome and gold finish), so he could not reinstall this, he tried another solid chrome one from truck wouldnt fit. Found another old cheap plastic part, it was either this or wait a week to order part from company. Alternatively, he could have replaced the entire unit for about $500-600 since he had to get into wall. Had him install the cheap product to get shower running. Its not pretty, doesnt match original fixtures, although most need updating.
I highly appreciated that he was able to send someone out same day. The plumber was overall nice. Not sure about price, and did not get to original parts, but I understand they are old. Would consider trying them again.
Response from Aqueduct Plumbing Company LLC

"Thank you very much for your review! Sometimes I think we can get into a bit of a "solbe the problem first" mode and that sounds like what happened here. Polished brass, though incredibly popular in the late 90's and early 2000's is pretty hard to come by these days. I think after reading your input we should have stopped, settled down and explored alternatives such as the one you suggested to replace everything. We are somtimes leery of this approach as it can be taken as an upsell and so most of the time we are just trying to fix the problem. Thank you again for the review, it is very much appreciated."

"Thank you very much, sir. We really appreciate the opportunity to work for you and are thrilled that you were pleased. We are usually a bit higher than landscapers on things like French drains due to the fact that landscapers aren't licensed and don't carry anywhere near the insurance of a plumbing contractor so I think that might be why our quote looked high. Thank you so mcuh!!"

I have been very happy with them. Excluding the new fixtures, the service call and fixing the leak was minor. It was $50-$100. It was not major. They are excellent. I have used them before. They are always punctual and very pleasant. I don’t ever feel like they are going to oversell me or try to do stuff that's not necessary. I have never had a bad experience with them. The price is very good.

Everything was great.  We came home from a vacation to find that both hot water heaters had failed while we were away, albeit for different reasons.  The Aqueduct staff promptly arrived - on time - assessed the situation, gave us options, then returned later the same day to install a new water heater and remove the old ones.  Prices were competitive, but the service was extraordinarily good.  Professional, prompt, friendly, helpful, skilled, and responsive.  They were the whole package.  Everything went well, and they even redeemed out Angie's List coupon.  We are just pleased as punch about how well our work with Aqueduct went.  Thanks, guys!

I called yesterday for a free estimate on my leak problem and was told they could come today between 10am to 12noon.

Henry arrived 10 minutes before 10am.  I explained the problem.  He found the source of the leak right away and replaced the gasket, all in about 40 minutes.   When Henry said he was finished and it was taken care of, I nearly cried for joy and told him I felt like hugging him - and he let me.

I should mention the reason I was so grateful and emotional is because I was told by another plumber yesterday that the leak couldn't be located, that I would have to take out a section of the living room ceiling and they couldn't give me a firm figure as to how much it would cost.  Further, I was told to wait until it leaked again and call them.

So, you can sort of imagine the relief and gratitude I felt.

Started out OK except we were told it would be a free estimate. Ended up costing us $65 to run a snake. After speaking with Billy and him explaining that he took the $65 off of his bid and reading all of the positive reviews, we decided to go with him. Arrangements were made to start the next day at 10am. Two guys showed up around 8am. Thankfully, someone was there. The two workers did not speak any English so communicating with them was frustrating. They did not even have any supplies to do the job. They had to ask where Home Depot was and since they could not understand, my husband had to drive them there! They tracked mud all in the house, they cut the hole in the brick far too large, they cracked the brick, and they spilled the purple pipe glue all down the front and back of the kitchen cabinet. This stuff does NOT come off. Also, when they filled in the hole in the brick, they left a crack where you could see daylight through. They also did not pack the grass back down, just left it sitting up high so that it was going to leave a hump for 90 feet. We called Billy to come back and take care of the crack and the cabinet door. The guys put more grout on and left. When I inspected it though, you could still see daylight. Had to have them come back yet again. Crack got fixed but still did not fix cabinet door. Billy never showed up to check on the job and made us wait all weekend to come back. Totally not the way to run a company. We gave him 3 chances to make things right so I did not have to write this.
Update:  Would like to add that I am very impressed with this company/owner. Instead of making up excuses and being defensive, he manned up, listened and I truly believe, learned from the experience. It is very hard to run a business and even harder to please everyone 100% of the time. Each client will have their own expectations and sometimes these expectations are unreasonable. Billy has reached out to us to "make right" and in his defense, some of the issues may not have been communicated as I had thought. Just the fact that he is willing to do whatever possible to right a wrong with no excuses shows me that he is a man of his word and is striving to deliver the best job possible. We will most certainly use his company again and are very appreciative of his actions.
Response from Aqueduct Plumbing Company LLC

"Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate all of our customers letting us know how we are doing, good or bad as there is something to learn from all of it. I just left you a voice mail to apologize and discuss so please feel free to call me any time. I care very much about what you have to say and the jobs that we do. I'm pretty well dumbfounded by a couple of the comments so I just really need to sit down with our crew. I do want to point out that we do give free estimates and it seems that we didn't communicate properly that arriving and analyzing is free but doing something like snaking a drain line carries a charge (and in this case the charge of $65 was deducted, in fact we deducted over $150 off of the original proposal prior to starting the job). I also never got the impression from Mr. Hall that things were going this way and that too is my fault for not having a better handle on the situation. I'm very sorry for this negative experience with us. I can't emphasize enough how much it matters to me to deliver good service."

I called Aqueduct Plumbing one afternoon to get them to pinpoint the source of water leakage that was showing up as wet carpet, baseboard and drywall.  An appointment was made for early the following morning which was acceptable since it appeared to be a slow leak that had been going on for some time.  We had not previously noticed the water problem because it was showing up in an area that was hidden by a large piece of heavy furniture.
Henry Pineda and a helper showed up on schedule and immediately went to work to find the leak source.  They worked quickly and efficiently, ruling out all possible sources until they had narrowed it down to the toilet in our guest bathroom.  Henry explained that we had not seen indications of a leak in the bathroom because it was happening very slowly and the water was draining under the tile floor and into the base of a common wall that was shared with the dining room.  He cut away some of the wet wallboard and showed me how the water was bubbling up each time the toilet was flushed.  After replacing the toilet's wax seal, Henry showed me that the problem had been corrected by demonstrating that the "bubbling" effect was no longer occurring.
This was an excellent experience with a very competent plumber (and assistant --- sorry, I did not write down his name).  They found the problem, made all necessary repairs and cleaned up after themselves in less time than I was expecting it to take.   The cost of service was, in my opinion, quite reasonable.
I will most definitely use Aqueduct Plumbing in the future and would have no problem recommending them to neighbors and friends.

From the beginning Aqueduct were responsive, helpful and professional.  They came out to give a reasonable quote after a thorough examine of the existing pipes.  Billy was available to answer any and all questions we had for the job.  On the day the work was suppose to beginning, Billy called to let us know they had an emergency call and need to reschedule for the next day.  That worked for us and we appreciated the advanced notice.  When Jose came out to start work the next day he was on time, professional and started work immediately.  He minimized the damage to the walls and made them easy to patch.  The job took a day and half .  We were extremely happy with the work.  We would and will call Aqueduct again!

Believe me I was about to tear into Aqueduct plumbing. They came out on a Saturday to work on a leak and I was told it was taken care of. Sunday the whole ceiling dropped in. I called them Monday Morning and they returned quickly and we found a wad of towels left by a previous owner clogging a vertical pipe between two floors. When they ran the snake upstairs and no further leaking was detected they thought they had the problem fixed. Then a bath was taken Sunday night and the pipe overflowed in a big way. The plumbing company came out and without a further charge found and cleared the clog. While it did ruin a bunch of sheet rock in the ceiling I completely understand how the plug was missed on the initial inspection and since they returned twice without charge to make sure it was done properly I will use them from now on.

Of all of the service companies that I have had this is the one where I truly have peace of mind that the service will ALWAYS be performed right. Start to finish, everyone is polite and professional! Truly great customer Service.
Last night I came home to water coming from near my water meter. I called Aqueduct and while on the phone he helped me determine if the issue was before the meter and would mean I needed to call the city. I was pretty sure it was after but he helped me confirm so I could get the right service as quick as possible. They were able to send a tech the very next morning. Freddy showed up on time and went right to work. He showed me exactly what the issue was and what he was going to do to repair it. a root from a near by tree had pushed the pipe and eventually over time broke the 90 degree angle section.  He dug out extra of the roots, repaired the pipe, replaced the sod and cleaned up the area perfectly in a little more than an hour. My bill was less than I expected.  Great service.
As back ground I used another national company for years for my plumbing. After the Hurricane I discovered that my drain out pipe cap had been knocked off by flying debris. I called that company and made an appointment for them to come a few days later and replace. On the day of the appointment that tech had not showed and wuold not answer my calls.. I called Aqueduct and his plumber Henry was close and he sent him right over. Henry replaced the cap and cleaned up the debris that had gotten in the drain. He was done and had left when the other guy showed. Since that day Henry has replaced pipes, installed fixtures, unclogged drains and a multitude of other things an old house needs. He has  been my first call always on time, professional, clean and extremely nice. Even once when my tile guy had messed up the counter top, Henry actually walked across the street where the tile guy was working on my neighbors house and brought him over to fix the counter for me. So the new sink would sit right. The first time Aqueduct did not send Henry I was very nervous, But Freddy showed up and just like Henry, he is professional, explains everything before he does it. The job is done right. Cleans up the area completely and is very courteous the whole time. Took the time to save the sod and replace exactly. I even took a picture of it when it dried a little to show.
I recommend them to everyone I know!

The city discovered our leaking water line in the morning...hours before tornadoes and torrential downpours hit the area.  As soon as the weather cleared, Aqueduct had their crews at our home, troubleshooting a leaky outdoor water line in the midst of our yard, which was completely flooded by rain.  They were able to isolate the leak and make repairs quickly.  Perhaps most impressive was the attention the crew gave to replacing the sod in our yard they had dug up...they didn't just throw everything back in the trench but had laid the sod off to the side early on and took great care to replace it so our yard didn't just look like it had been dug up right after a rainstorm.

Excellent repair work.  Excellent attention to detail after the fact as well.

Added these folks to my phone contacts for next time...we'll be using them again for sure.
