DISTINCTIVE ROOFING SYSTEMS

Bill arrived on time and had the roof panel back in place within one hour. He checked the remainder of the roof and deamed it as in good shape.

I did ALOT of research on metal roofs -- probably nearly two years. I educated myself on the different options out there. I decided I wanted a mechanically seamed standing seam metal roof. There are alot of roofers that say that do metal roofs, but there are not many that do this type of installation. Distinctive Roofing was actually an early contact, but I was still in the investigation stage.
In July 2009, I saw someone in my local Home Depot wearing a T-shrt with a and quot;Distinctive Roofingand quot; logo on the back. I didn't approach him in the store, but when I saw him AGAIN in the parking lot, I figured it was fate. I introduced myself and asked if he worked at Distinctive Roofing. That brief conversation with Bill Pinkerton energized me to pull the trigger on my roofing project. I had already received several bids on the work, but was not satisfied with a variety of different things with each company. Roofers tend to have a bad rap and I wanted to feel like I could trust my roofer. After that fateful day in July, we met once and traded emails several times. First estimate received August 27, but it seems like my summer vacation delayed the final contract and color selection. That was signed in early October and work started 11/5/2009. Most of the workers didn't speak English. So, when I had a question, I needed to talk to Bill. I found him to be responsive.
He played well with the other contractors (I had a plumber out to re-work drain-waste-vents and a mason to re-brick the chimney.)
Most of the work was completed in one week, but I was not happy with the ridge vent. I did online research. I even found an architect blogger-type that was able to provide some free advice. I provided links to Bill. To his credit, he educated himself on the products available. I don't recall which manufacturer's product he used, but he removed the ridge and installed a proper ridge vent with sufficient Net Free Ventilation Area to support the attic sf and balanced with the soffit vents. And this did NOT require an upper in the cost of the roof.
As I mentioned, Bill created a chimney cap for my and quot;newand quot; chimney, and I love it. I didn't even know that I needed it, so I was happy when Bill suggested it might be something I would like.
Here is the thing that totally sold me on Bill Pinkerton. The first big rain that we had after the roof was installed, we had water leaking in the kitchen! Bill came out that evening while it was raining within an hour of the call. His evaluation was that the fresh mortar of the chimney was allowing water in. The next day, he came out with a small crew to waterproof the chimney. No charge.
I recently built a detached garage and insisted that the roof be done by Distinctive Roofing. When my mother mentioned that she wanted to install a metal roof on a rental property, I told her that I would check to see if Bill ever travels that far (she lives in San Antonio).
