"Scheduling was an issue due to the fact that it was a remodel and required more effort on our part to get done in a timely manner. The plumbing issue was due to the plumber being called to an emergency and unable to make it to this job. In an attempt to avoid the customer being without water, we did re-install her existing faucets. At this point, (Member name removed) determined that they should replace the faucets due to age and natural wear. This was not caused by the faucets being installed by someone other than a licensed plumber. I apologized for any inconvenience and was told this was ok that they could manage until the morning. They had new faucets the next morning and we made another trip back to install them. The following day she contacted the office and said she had some water under the sink and was concerned she had another leak. I arrived within 30 minutes and determined it was a drain line and promptly fixed this. We sat down to discuss the final balance at which time she informed me that I should pay her for the new faucets. I did not feel responsible to do this since she chose to re-use her existing old faucets instead of replacing them with new during this remodel. I did offer her a $400 discount in attempt to have a pleased customer. She agreed to this and paid me the balance due less the $400. We shook hands and I left. I realize remodel jobs are more difficult on the home owner no matter the project, but to be left with the impression that all partys are happy and then to receive a negative review caused concern on my part. In the future more complete evaluation of existing faucets and recommending replacement will be priority as well as scheduling to fit everyones busy schedule."
She made an appt. to come out on Wednesday after our visiting the shop on Monday. Jim was due at 10 on Wednesday and he was there by 9:50. He came in, measured everything and explained to us what would take place. He told me the bid would be emailed to me by the next afternoon. I received the bid on the same afternoon followed up by a phone call from Mike. He asked me to come in to discuss the bid, which we did the next day. We had planned on furnishing sink, faucets ourselves, so this was removed from bid. He was extremely approachable and explained everything to us. We decided to go with a lighter shade of granite, sent us with a sample and we made a deposit of 50%. We made an appt. for Jim to come out and make a template of our countertops. He showed up promptly and it took approximately 2 hours for him to lay everything out to make the template. During this time he answered any questions that we had and we had a lot, especially when it came to the corbels for the bar. We were responsible for purchasing the corbels. We purchased them online from a company in Colorado, good quality, solid oak. We set the date for installation for the 27or 28th of December, he said if it was raining they wouldn't install, due to the mess it would make.
When the slab arrived at the their shop, Mike called and ask us to come look at it before they started cutting. We were even more impressed after seeing the large slab of granite. Jim showed us how they would lay out the template on the slab of granite. We also met the young man that would be doing the install, Olle.
They came to install on December 28th at approximately 8:30 and finished at about 4:30, with time for lunch. While here Olle with my husband decided to make a small granite backslash on the bar instead of leaving the tile that we were using as the backsplash on the rest of the countertops. Olle and the other two gentlemen were extremely neat with everything that they did. It was a cold day and my husband kept the coffee pot going for them. They cleaned up everything before they left, absolutely no mess left behind. Olle came back today to install granite backsplash on bar, once again being extrememly neat, even taking his shoes off when he came into the house, since it was raining.
Mike came by after they finished to check out the job. This complany knows what they are doing and does it with the customer's needs and wants in mind. We plan to have them back to replace countertops in both bathrooms.
"As stated in her first sentenance, this job was not done by Dale Nichols Marble. We do not use sub-contractors, we have employees on site that fabricate the Granite and our Installers are Dale Nichols Marble employees."
