When I paid him by the hour his work was better. Then, when he gave me hard bid that's when the work got sloppy and he started disappearing for days at a time. His poor time management turned the job into a long, drawn out project; probably one too big for him to handle. Sloppy sheet rock texture, didn't finish sanding wood floors, stiffed me on 2 windows, painted around fixtures instead of lowering them, and previous paint color shows through. He also ruined my doors by brush painting them when he was supposed to spray them; he said the paint just bubbled up. At least one outlet doesn't have power to it. Wood floor was poorly installed. Took 3 different times for him to finally reinforce the floor decking so it wouldn't sink in where the old floor furnace used to be located--for 3 days straight I would come home and step on it to check, and then I'd have to tell him that it was still sinking in. Although the contract says he gives a 1-year warranty, he doesn't honor it, and I haven't been able to get him on the phone since he left the job. Now I have to pay someone else to, among other things, (1) properly float the messed up textured sheet rock and repaint it, (2) repaint, (3) finish sanding the floors, (4) buy and install 2 windows (5) fix outlet, and (6) either have someone strip and repaint interior doors or buy new ones ahead of schedule. What he did right: demo work (but who can't do that!), opening the floor plan, and adding headers and arches, relocating washer connections, some of the electrical. The bad far outweighs the good, which is why he gets an "F."
