We have been in the house for a year and a half and have already begun to see the paint peel off of parts of the house. It was coming off in sheets. It looked as if it hadn't been primed. When we were experiencing record rainfall, the bathroom ceiling began leaking water. Upon further inspection by a roofer, we found that there was a hole in the board under the shingles. It looked as if the old vent from the bathroom was moved to a different location. Instead of replacing the entire board, they just created a new vent hole and covered up the old hole with shingles. Nothing was put in place to keep water out.. Water was leaking through the roof and onto the insulation and bathroom ceiling. When we were in the process of buying the house, we had asked that the roof be replaced since it looked as if it had not been updated. We were told that he had very limited funds left to spend on the house and that the roof had been inspected by a reputable roofer. It was found to be okay. Paperwork was requested from the "reputable roofer," but was never provided. We were told that they were only going to replace parts of the roof that needed the most work. Apparently, the bathroom area was either completely overlooked or just knowingly covered up. Someone had to know about the hole since they removed what used to be there.
Another issue we have had to deal with is the breakers going out in the kitchen, and both bedrooms. Anytime we had the microwave running, we had to cross our fingers that the power wouldn't go out. We will have to have an electrician come out to inspect and see what needs to be done to fix this issue.
I wouldn't be so upset if I didn't pay over $100 a square foot for this little house. It is a big investment to make to get shoddy work. I assumed that this house would be done with the same quality and care that was taken with their other restorations. I would never recommend this company to anyone in need of painting, roofing, or restoration work. The one good thing about the company...the 8 foot fence they installed is still standing and in good condition.
