Ellis County Deck and Fence

The job was done very well. It took 3 days maybe, did most of the work offsite. I think it was 3 workers. The quality of their construction, the explanation of why they were doing what they were doing and their responsiveness to things we need to have fixed.

Awesome customer service. Friendly and polite crew. Beautiful workmanship. Highly Recommend!! Arrived on time, left yard safe for dog each day. Final cleanup left the yard cleaner than when they started!

After the Dec 26th tornado that went through Glenn Heights and surrounding DFW I surveyed the damage and was in a daze of disbelief.. I was lucky and still had my house standing but my backyard was a disaster. The tornado literally went through my backyard and destroyed much of my structures in my 1 acre backyard. I have 4 little dogs and a Siberian Husky. My top concern was getting the fence installed so that I didn't loose my puppy kids. Sunday I called my Allstate agent and had an appointment on Monday for my Adjuster to come out. When he left on Monday Morning I immediately went to Angies List to find a reputable fence contractor. Ellis County Deck and Fence came up with only good reviews. I checked out their website and called Robert Courtney , the owner of Ellis County Deck and Fence, and spoke to him of my concerns for my puppies getting lost. Robert came over in a matter of a few hours and walked the property with me, took measurements and said he would have me an estimate that night.
While waiting on the estimate i was worried that this was going to be outrageously high repair since the tornado had left a lot of people in desperate need of any contractor they could get their hands on (law of supply and demand, demand was very high). I recalled that 3 months earlier I had an estimate done from a fence company (couldn't remember who had given it to me) that came in at $16,500.00 for nearly the same scope of project. When I asked Robert to quote it I had added a double gate to the end of my driveway that wasn't quoted before. I had planned on saving my money and getting the fence done in the spring.
True to his word, Robert sent me quote that evening. As I looked at it I was truly amazed that his quote ($16,950.00) was right in the same ballpark as the one I received 3 months before from a different company while the demand was low. Robert said he could start in 1 week (he had to finish the job he was currently working on but would squeeze me in before his next job because of the puppies). I accepted his quote and paid a 1/2 deposit. 
2 days later, after talking to a neighbor, I realized that I had a huge liability since my pool was open with no fence. I called Robert and he was there that same day to install a temporary chain link fence around the pool that also gave my puppies some room to run around a little.
As promised, Robert started the job when he was supposed to. I have checked his work daily and he has done everything I could have expected and even a little more. The fence is half installed now and should be complete in a few days. I have walked the half that is finished and the work is incredible. The quality of the materials is top notch. The post were all set at least 30" deep and most were 36" deep. The post are .092 thick and straight as an arrow. The tops of all the pickets are matched up to the one next to them with very high accuracy. The gaps between pickets are minuscule. 
I could not be happier with Robert, his crew and their work. I could not wait to post this until he was complete because I am sure there are many in the area still looking for a fence contractor and it was important to me to get Ellis County Deck and Fence the recognition i felt they deserved for ;
1. Not hiking their prices up while so many are in need.
2. Performing to a "T" with what they say they will do.
3. Giving me the best fence that I have ever seen installed in someones yard.
4. Always being there when I called.
5. Caring about my situation and doing their best to help me in any way they could.
 If you read this review and still go with a different fence builder then I hope you get everything from your contractor that Robert has offered me with my job. I won't just consider him my fence contractor, I will consider him my friend.

Very well. Ellis installed fence originally 16 years ago. This work was just as high quality and responsive.

The bid I received was not the lowest or the highest. I have received several bids over the years on the gate, and so I had a good idea of the costs involved. I think I received very good quality of materials and workmanship for the money I had in my budget.

I was fortunate to have examples of their work near to my house, so I was able to look at their product, not only new, but after weathering a few years of storms. I was impressed with the drive-up appeal of their fences.

When there was a deviation from the construction schedule, and we had some weather and material-availability issues pop up, I was contacted and kept informed every step of the way. The owner, Robert Courtney, was onsite every time work was being done, participating in the construction hands-on.

After the fence was installed, Robert ran me through a quick and quot;owner's training classand quot; for the gate opener, and was helpful when our inevitable ice storm hit and a fuse blew (due to my impatience and not removing ALL of the ice from the rail). I was able to resolve the problem myself after a quick phone call to him for a refresher on how to replace the fuse.

Finally, my fence and gate are beautiful and I receive compliments on the looks and quality on a regular basis.

They are prompt and they are here when they say they will be. Their workmanship is first grade.

HE DID VERY GOOD WORK. HE FINISHED WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD AND HIS ESTIMATE WAS VERY ACCURATE.
