ALL SEASONS FENCING

They came out and they never measured. He made the order but he told me he would measure. I gave him an approximate amount but he should have measured. They told me it would take a couple of weeks to get someone out. Two Mexicans and the owner's daughter came out. The two Mexicans didn't understand English. The daughter doesn't speak Spanish. I wondered how they communicated. They did quote me a very good price. I paid half up front and I was supposed to pay the other half at completion. I got my money back. They left the post in the ground and all of their fencing was left here. They never installed it and never came by to pick it up. This has been an ongoing situation. They would say they were coming and they would never show up. She called me out at seven in the morning the day they came out. She called to let me know that they would be coming out that day. It takes them all day to do this job and the job was done half *expletive*. They keep putting me off about installing the fence. She calls me and tells me that they don't have my gate. I had been calling and calling. They were always rescheduling. There was always some crazy reason.

I called Vanessa and asked for a quote to replace the fence. I explained that approximately 40 feet had fallen down, but otherwise gave no indication of the size of the job. Vanessa stated that she would have someone come out and measure the fence and then send an estimate. I received an email with an estimate for 120 ft of #1 cedar fencing with 3 gates, 3 support rails, tear down and haul away of the old fence for about $1900. Based on this price I agreed to have the fence replaced, and my neighbors agreed to pay for 1/2 of the cost for the common fence. They didn't show up for 10 days after they said they would despite repeated phone calls and assurances that they would be there. They tore down the rest of the old fence on a Sunday and set approximately 1/2 of the fence posts but did not return until the following Friday to replace the fence leaving me with no fenced yard to keep the dogs. When they returned, they ran out of materials, and it was only then that they realized that the fence was 230 ft long and not 120 ft long. 120 feet had seemed short to me, but I figured that they had actually measured the fence whereas I had only eyeballed it. It turns out that they had never come to measure and accused me of providing them the 120 ft number. I explained that the only figure I had provided was the 40ft that had fallen down and had they asked me to measure, I would have, or would have least told them how many 8 ft sections there were to the fence. Long story short- the new quote was about $3700 though she reluctantly agreed to take off the tear down and haul away of the old fence which brought the final cost to near $3000. My neighbors paid me 1/2 of the original quote since that is what they agreed to. They finally finished the fence on Saturday, and then came and hauled off the old fence after dark. Needless to say, the yard is a mess. Chunks of concrete everywhere embedded in the ground, chunks of broken wood, much of it sharp. Also, before we had agreed to remove the tear down and haul away fees, they sent me an email demanding the balance and instructed me that a release of lien would be issued when they received my payment. I interpreted this to mean that they were ready to put a lien on my property. They stated that this was normal business procedure though a release of lien had not been brought up before that point.
