I made one phone call after discovering my 10-year old water heater was not working. Darrell brought out a new one, took away the old one, replaced the old parts with better ones, improved the overflow drainage so it is routed to the outside of the house rather than into the garage, and installed two new carbon monoxide detectors which are now code required. I have been calling Darrell since 1996, when something breaks or I want to install something new. He's basically a one-man operation, or one-man plus son, and he has a long list of established clients so he is always booked up for about three weeks from when you call. But if you are desperate and doing without water or without hot water, he will usually try to work in established customers. If you just want to install new faucets, you might have to wait several weeks.
Whatever his rates might be at the moment, you can be sure that anyone of similar experience and with his skills will be charging about the same. He does not have to impress anyone with outward appearances like a flashy vehicle because he's been doing reliable work for decades. If you think his quoted price is high, just remember what you now pay for gas, or ground beef, or milk and bread compared to what you paid for it just a couple of years ago.

I upgraded kitchen and baths. Kitchen was black and brushed nickel. They were polite, punctual and smooth. They forgot to secure clips under right side of new sink and they did not secure soap dispenser. Other work was good. Cost was shocking...paid $82/hr for plumber and $30/hr for helper. That's $112/hr FOR A PLUMBER! Got zapped for 13 total hours, 6.5 each and I ended up finishing the job (clips and dispenser). They put a shiny, cheap chrome strainer and rim in 1 side of sink. Other side and everything else is black and brushed nickel. They charged me $16.95 for a $3 crappy, unmatched strainer. My job prevented me from overseeing the work. My wife did her best but did not feel comfortable complaining. They were referred to me by granite company...granite company set expectations of cost about half of what I paid.

It's a very small operation. They do good work at a great price but the only downfall is their ability to do something quickly.
