The wall for the dryer exhaust vent requires an extender. The installer indicated that they have this problem fairly often, but they don't carry the extenders on the truck. They intended to install the dryer without one, but I didn't want to have to essentially re-install the dryer myself after they (the ones I was paying for installation) left. I had to make a quick run to Lowe's and purchase one before they left. They should carry extenders with them.

Great. Unfortunately for us the cord that comes standard with GE appliances was not long enough to reach our outlet in the center of the wall (how weird right?), so they were kind enough to advise us on the legnth of cord (very hard to find by the way) and even asked if they would like them to install it. They were kind enough to test both the washer and dryer out before leaving. Which made us feel good that it was installed (or would install in the case of the dryer) correctly.
