CUSTOM FLOORS-GILLISPIE

We needed my floors leveled and fixed and just new floors. I called Custom Floors by Gillispie Contractors and after Gary Gillispie came out and bid on the job and several others we ed Gary aka Gillispie Contractors. He asked for half which was about $1500 for supplies material said it would be done just clean out the china cabinets and try and get as much out of the rooms that will be worked on.....he disappeared. His phone was turned off. He was no where to be found. After hunting and searching and researching his phone was turned on again. I had to hound him constantly to either give me the money back or give me the product. Time went by his friend decided he would come by and maybe lay the flooring. The product that Gary left me was painters plastic and scrap mix matched boxes of wood. Three different companies/brands of flooring. Not knowing and being a bit too trusting I hadn't even thought that he would have done anything like that to any one. He was a rather large man that had just lost his wife in a train wreck where he was driving and his kids were in the vehicle.....aweful story...seemed to be a good guy just trying to make an honest living....and drawing a disability check (come to find out). So his friend more or less told me that Gary did me wrong and he would talk to him. Gary owed him money as well. Almost a year goes by and all I was able to get out of all of it was $500.00 cash a bunch of mix matched boxes of flooring, a roll of painters plastic a sheet of particle board and a horrible lesson. Did I mention that my mother was the one that actually funded all of this? 73 year old, sick woman, on a fixed income just wanting her floors nice. We were going to have Thanksgiving at moms and she was so excited to have nice new floors just in time for the occasion. He has a myspace account if you want a picture of him and his truck.
