We remodeled a master bathroom that was designed with the double sinks open to the bedroom - similar to motel rooms. The contractor created an entirely new space by moving an existing wall out two feet and walling in the area in front of the sinks. We then had one room with sinks, shower, and commode completely separate from the bedroom.
The remodel replaced all sinks, removed a bathtub and replaced it with synthetic marble shower with a seat, added ceiling to floor cabinets, new commode. We had sliding glass doors put in for the shower. We worked with Jessica and she was extremely helpful with selections and styles. Decorating is not my strong point and that is something she worked with and gave me a few selections and it looks great!
We had to wait on other subcontractors at various times and I did get irritated and contacted her. She got everyone going and my job was finished in 2 weeks over estimate. This is a miracle in our area right now because so much construction is going on and getting someone to come out and even do a bid is impossible. We did have to pay directly to plumber, an electrician, and a carpenter. My husband did things like put the commode back, put the knobs on the new cabinets, replaced the lights back on the wall. I did not include that in the cost above.
We have never done remodeling and have lived in my house for 24 years so this was an experience and I had no idea what to expect.
A visit to the store to see samples of granite and travertine resulted in samples to take home to match with walls, flooring, and adjacent carpet. An appointment was made to measure countertops and backsplash space. Granite and backsplash type and color was selected and a date for installation was set. When the slab of granite came in to the shop, we were able to view granite selected. Three man crew arrived at the time and date scheduled and began removal of old countertop and sink. Countertops and backsplash area was prepared for granite installation. Granite was installed and cut out for sink was made. Under mount sink was installed. Granite was sealed when installation was complete.
The countertop installation was on a Friday and since the installers don't work on Saturday, the backsplash was installed on Monday. The time was set and the installer arrived and began work as scheduled. Work was completed and kitchen area cleaned up.The installation is beautiful and very professional in appearance. Riata
