Two and a half days later, Scott finished the job. Or so we thought.
Now, the brand new toilet does not work, the vanity sink faucet is leaking under the sink, and the shower is leaking. When I texted Scott to tell him this, he called and spoke with my husband, who asked Scott if he tested the faucet after he installed it. He told my husband he couldn't test it because there was no pee trap for the faucet. and quot; Why didn't you grab a bucket and put it underneath to catch the water so that you could test the faucet?and quot; my husband asked. Scott had no answer.
My husband asked Scott if he tested the shower and Scott said yes. My husband asked if he tested both the hot and cold faucets and Scott said yes. My husband asked if Scott ran the hot water on the shower and felt the hot water and Scott said yes. My husband told Scott he was lying because the hot water had been turned off in the guest house since we moved here.
Instead of apologizing and offering to fix his mistakes, Scott made excuse after excuse after excuse for why the toilet didn't work, the sink faucet leaked and the shower leaked behind the wall. The fact of the matter is, Scott NEVER checked to make sure the plumbing was correctly working after he installed everything. But he certainly made sure to run right over to the bank and cash our $900 check! Because of Scott Randolph's shoddy work, we are going to have to try to find a PROFESSIONAL to correct Scott Randolph's work, costing us more money than if we had just hired a real professional from the beginning.
DON'T EVER TRUST SCOTT RANDOLPH, OWNER OF SCOTT'S HOME REMODELING.
UPDATE: After checking the toilet, sink and shower, this is what we learned:
The toilet: Scott did not properly fit the stem in the tank and lock it into place (a safety feature of the toilet), which prevented the water from properly flowing when the toilet was flushed.
The sink: Scott did not put any rubber gaskets or teflon tape on the pipe to form a seal to prevent water from leaking.
The shower: Scott overtightened the shower stem coming out of the wall, busting the fitting in the wall to which the shower stem screwed into, causing the water to leak on the other side of the shower into the closet.
Had Scott checked his work, he would have easily and quickly noticed his mistakes. He didn't do that and he lied to us when he said he did check his work. He was more interested in cashing our $900 check than he was in doing a professional job for a customer.
the doors and the wood rot on the siding on outside of house. He found the one
door needed to be replaced due to the wood rot but he managed to fix it so it
would be ok for another 6 months to a year. Did the work requested quickly and
efficiently. Professional job at a reasonable rate.
