Tile Dynamics & Flooring

DO NOT use this company. They did not float the floor prior to beginning installation. They did not snap lines and begin at the center of the room to begin the layout. They left loose and crooked tiles and a huge (greater than 1 inch) margin on one wall and filled in with extra grout. They smeared grout 5 feet up on the walls and did not clean up. They dented our refrigerator door. The tiles in the kitchen are so out of square we'll probably have to tear out and redo. Some of the tiles are not level and cause us to trip over them. The owner was not on site and it was difficult to get him to respond and finish up the job. I am a former general contractor and the job would have been much worse if I had not been onsite almost constantly. The crew were all new to the tile business and only the foreman was able to communicate with me. While I applaud the owner for affirmative action in hiring an all-deaf crew, it is a significant handicap if they are still learning and there is no foreman on the site constantly.

The work is so shoddy that parts of it will have to be re-done.  There were so many red flags about this guy I wish I had paid attention.  Two of his workers told me they had been with him only two weeks.  They later quit for non payment of services.  A third worker had worked for Orlando Salazar for one week and quit because of a payment issue.  
Some grout lines are 1/4" while others are 1/8".  One grout joint is more than an inch thick.  He didn't even bother to wipe off the grout from the tile when cleaning up.  We had four extra boxes of tile that I now need to make repairs, but he took them and will not return calls or texts.  Other supplies went missing from the job site when Orlando was working.  
After this disastrous experience I found a review about him (Tile Dynamics) on Yelp that said he often changes his name.  I discovered the address on the contract he gave us is false.  There is no street by that name in Austin.
