Lawn Service
Got their info through word of mouth, from a woman at a local nursery who also lives in the area. Spoke to LeeAnn Harryman, she and her husband David are owner/operators of thier business. If I recall correctly she said they have been in business for 7 years, and they live in the area here. I made it clear that the most important factor for me is that i know when they are coming so that I can handle my dog. She told me weekly or bi-weekly their charge for an average size lot is $25. If there is a lot of overgrowth due to season, rain or time gap there will be a ten dollar up charge. They ask that customers put a credit or debit card on file but you can also submit a check. I explained I wasn't comfortable with that yet (they are word of mouth only and I can't find any record, website, or company listing anywhere) and she assured me a check would be fine. LeeAnn asked me to e-mail her my info and that she would let me know when they are scheduled to do the area next.
On 9/13 my dog starts acting up suddenly and there are 3 men on my front lawn, before I can find out what's going on the phone starts ringing, it's LeeAnn letting me know that's her husband, and he feels it's more than two weeks growth (it was 2 weeks to the day) and they will service it today if I give them a check for $50 now. Claims she couldn't get back to me because her e-mail was down. I asked why it isn't just $35 and she said due to the over growth, I said what about in the future, she said in the future if it's every two weeks it will be $25 plus tax and a possible extra $10 for over growth. I called back 3 minutes later, the guys on the lawn had left. She didn't answer, called me back, she said they would come back after doing another service in the area. I agreed to the fifty, said I would leave the check under the mat, and that I would not pay $50 again. They came back and did the service. Giving the benefit of doubt, I assume the wet weather is why some of the grass was just pushed down but not cut, I don't have an excuse for them putting a heap of wet clippings loose in my trash can(town stipulates anything in the tote must me securely bagged or enclosed), but they certainly didn't go over any area more than once due to the supposed more than 2 weeks of overgrowth.
Their check cleared my bank 9/17 without any issues. Through a series of e-mails she began with me on 9/18 they refuse to do any more service without a credit card or debit card on file. The e-mail communication will follow in pictures. There is something fishy going on there, added to overpriced sub-par service, buyer beware.
