Handyman Service, Electrical Service
We previously had an air-conditioning unit installed/heat pump installed. We experienced ongoing issues with the quality of that installation. FCO was sent by the installer to resolve issues. However the original installer failed to pay for services. We elected to have FCO resolve the permit issues, code issues and other installation issues because they where familiar with what the original contractor had done. We signed a contract on March 20 2013 to make corrections. We where told at the time it would take a couple of weeks to address the issues, making completion somewhere around end of April at the latest. We failed to get that part in writing.
The individual that showed up was never even once on time. Often showed up at 6 p.m. or later and worked on at least days well into 11:30 p.m. in the evening.
The city inspectors where out at least 4 times before inspection was passed on the 5th and final time.
Contractor did not call back nor was he present during inspections and failed to communicate effectively with the permit department.
I had to repeatedly call him and ask when he was going to finish the job.
Job was finally completed, however it was not completed until I contacted another contractor and tried to have the permits changed over so the job could be completed. Job was finished by this contractor the same evening and inspected the next day July 2,2013.
Almost 15 weeks most of which was me calling the contractor trying to get him to complete the job. Thankfully although I did pay half up front I did not pay balance until permits where completed. I do feel that the job would not have been completed at all if I had paid him the way he wanted to be paid which was 1/2 up front balance when job was 3/4 done not when it was finished.
The stress involved in dealing with this individual was not worth what it cost to do the job.
However the job was completed.
Permits where obtained.
If time is not relevant and you do not pay for work upfront, the work was completed to code which was what was important to us.
