Faglie House Moving

The timeline of this job was way over what he told us in the beginning. When we first talked with him, he said he could move the house in 3 weeks. It ended up taking 3 months. He said that he has a large crew to help him with the biggest parts of the job, but he only had 2 or 3 people working with him most of the time. He told us that he could move the house with little damage to it, and when it arrived there were 2 corners of the roof knocked off, shingles were missing, and there was a lot of damage to 2 sides of the roof on the edges as well. He did offer to repair the corners, but because of the poor work he had demostrated, we didn't want him to try to fix it. He also told us that in the many years he has been moving houses, he had only broken 1 window. When our house arrived, it had a broken window. He walked off the job before the foundation part of the job was completed. All along the way there was little to no communication on what he was doing. When we asked questions, he became irritated with us and said that no one had ever tried to be so involved in the process, and asked us why we couldn't just trust him to to the job. He also had to move a storage shed on our property to make room to place the house. He came out with a forklift to move teh shed, and caused major damage to the supporting beam on the bottom of it. He offered to move the shed back, but we were afraid he would just cause it more damage. He told us that he was a member of the Texas Structural Movers Association, but when I called them, they said he was not a member. If you ever need a house moved, I recommend contacting this association before hiring anyone.
