Blue Agave Landscaping

Initially I hired Blue Agave Landscapes to do some repairs on my sprinkler system. Previous owners of the house had done a lot of work to the sprinkler system over the years - and unfortunately for us there was no map of what zones were where, etc. This past winter we had a break in the sprinkler line with that last hard frost and several zones of the sprinkler system did not work at all when we tried to turn everything on this spring. Later this some several more zones stopped working. We hired another irrigation repair company to come in and fix the system (after calling several others that didn't even return our calls!). The company that came out (after a 2 week waiting period) sent 2 guys for a little less than 2 hours. They fixed a couple of zones but left several unfixed and claimed they couldn't figure it out. Desparate I heard from a neighbor about Blue Agave landscapes and had them come out to fix the system. I had heard they really like an irrigation challenge because that is one of their specialties - and it turns out they really do like the challenge and really do know their stuff! The interesting difference about Blue Agave landscapes was that they took their time to do a full and complete diagnostic of the sprinkler system. Apparently someone had added drip irrigation to the system a few years back (we didn't even know about this) and had done a poor job and that was only one of many problems our system had. We were presented with a complete estimate to fix the irrigation on our 3 acre property and they started immediately once we agreed to the price. They worked very diligently to fix the system - digging up lines, retracing & figuring out the spaghetti like system we had and fixing everything. They replaced some valves that needed it, and then set up each head on each zone to get maximum water usage for the area it was designed to cover. So now instead of putting water on the driveways and walkways etc the lawn & planting beds are getting the water! Brilliant! Also they added some heads to beds that were woefully under-watered. THey also provided us with a zone map and rewired the whole system for ease of future maintenance and more efficient watering. I was so pleased with the results I had them do a full bed clean out and remove overgrown/dying shrubs and trees and then top dress with new mulch. They recommended some new plants in some areas and relocated some of our existing plants to other areas for a very good overall look. The yard now simply looks fantastic and I couldn't be happier with the results. While they were working on the landscaping they came across an old outdoor lighting system that had not worked since we purchased the house. They did some quick diagnosing of the system and fixed it! I was amazed...it was so very thoughtful of them to do this even though I had not asked them to do it. And they readjusted all the lights and wires to maximize the lighting effect....I love it. Overall I found blue agave to be very helpful, very responsive, and highly competent. They came in on schedule and on budget and even surprised us with a few extras (like the lighting, and reusing our existing plants in some areas) to provide an even better experience. This was light years ahead of the other landscape irrigation company we had who really made it feel like we were just a quick stop on an already overloaded schedule where they couldn't be bothered to fix everything or even make a second appointment to come back. I highly recommend Blue Agave Landscapes!
