I had a leaky bathroom faucet.  Your technician said the faucet needed to be replaced.  The new faucet would cost $250 if you provided it.  Your cost to install was an additional $229.00. Since my faucets had been discontinued  the price would be doubled as I would have to replace the faucet in the other sink so it would match.  The total cost would be $958.00.  I wanted a second opinion so I called another plumber on Angie's List.  He came out and within 5 minutes diagnosed the problem.  All I needed was a new rubber washer.  He charged me $79.00 for the service call.  I saved $879.00!  By the way you charged me $79.00 for your service call which was totally worthless!

I had a leak under my sink. The service man from Benjamin Franklin insisted it was a fitting for the reverse osmosis system. He charged me $49.00 for a SERVICE ?? call. The installer for the reverse osmosis system replaced the fitting insisting that it was not the problem, but just to make sur.e he replaced it. (at no cost to me) The leak persisted so I called a local handy man, Mike Shaw, who saw immediately that it was a corroded gasket from the garbage disposal which he replaced for less than the SERVICE CALL CHARGE that  Benjamin Franklin charged.

Couldn't do it since he couldn't get the snake past a bent pipe in the wall. Since he could not fix it I think the charge should have been waived. Will not call them again...

So after waiting 4 hours I get a call from the plumber that he was on his way. Then I get another call that they dispatched the wrong person and that they would not get someone out there until late that evening. So I waited again and someone showed up. After looking at the plumbing (since I had it all exposed) he ask where the main shut off valve was. I said I shut off the water right were the plumbing comes into the valve and you do not need to shut off the main. I was already concerned about his knowledge. Then he said that he could not get the valve out (mind you its plastic) and that he would need to replace the entire plumbing. And this would require him to cut a hole in my dry wall behind the shower to get to the plumbing. I told him I didn;t want to do that and wanted to speak with his manager. I called his manager and and agreed with me but that they didn;t have the valve and would have to special order it. The bottom line here is that he was on overtime, didn't have the specific valve on his truck and would rather replace the entire plumbing and use a valve they have. I told him no thanks. A job that should have cost around $200 would have ended up costing me about $800. They did this to me once before but this time I said no. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. If you call these guys be prepared for the upsell as it is all about the money. I think they are totally dishonest company.

I purchased one of Angie's specials: $99 for $200 of plumbing. I was in desperate need of repair for two leaky faucets. After finalizing the purchase and receiving a confirmation from Angie, I received a notice from the provider that they no longer do business in my area. This was very disappointing since this was my very first Angie's list purchase After calling Angie to get a refund, I was informed of the Concierge service where Angie engages and secures a provider on your behalf. This service takes 1 business day. Of course this is Friday so I have to wait until Monday. The jury is still out!!!

Very professional job. They showed up on time, gave me an estimate for various options, and performed the work as agreed. Took two people nearly half a day to complete the high pressure cleaning of the kitchen drain. They were busy the entire time. As part of the agreement, they came back several months later to replace the hot water heater anode. Turned out to be a more difficult job than expected, but there as no additional charge. I trust these professionals and will not hesitate to call them again.

They were on time, very clean and professional, and more than fair on their pricing.  They were very efficient and finished much faster than expected!
