Southern Comfort A/C and Heating

If you need any sort of A/C service, avoid this company like the plague. The name is Southern Comfort, and there are a few with that name, but the website for this one is [*** Link removed ***] I had to check and double check to make sure I am giving this terrible review to the correct contractor. This person was sent by my warranty company to service my unit. To make a long story short, he told the warranty company I needed 6.5 lbs of Freon and a new thermostat. He charges $75 per pound. The warranty company says they do not cover Freon but will give me $80 for the thermostat. I check around for prices of Freon and his charge I find is exorbitant, so when they call a few days later I explain I will go with someone else, as they are charging almost double the going rate, they tell the Warranty company they already repaired the thermostat. So now the Warranty company is not going to send me the $80 for the themostat. Thing is.... I have proof he didn't fix the thermostat, as he left an invoice stating I NEED a thermostat. It turns out that I do not need Freon at all, and an honest technician fixed my unit for $158.00 this morning. (That included the thermostat that Southern Comfort did not fix and a stuck contactor unit.) Southern Comfort was going to charge me almost $500 for Freon I don't need. And they lied to the Warranty company. So this is a PSA make sure you do not give this company your business. This might be followed up with a review of a Warranty company but they might still make things right. Southern Comfort will now not even take my phone call, imagine that. I wasted $45 on their service fee to lie to my warranty company and to try to scam me for $500 of Freon I did not need.
