Description of Work: This painter was suggested to me by a neighbor. I am remodeling my 1951 home that I am purchasing and chose to have it painted brick and trim to update it which is where he comes in because after getting quotes for quite some time he had the best prices. On initial contact way prior to his current service this painter was punctual and prompt with his response. Upon contacting him months later I had to keep calling his home number almost pestering the daughter to get him to call back. The only thing that worked was calling and texting his cell number once the daughter got tired of me calling the number provided on his card. Good points: Estimate day went fine although prices went up in 100 dollar increments but to be expected upon adding things, he was courteous and showed genuine attention to what I was wanting. His punctuality once I got ahold to him was good and he showed up promptly on the date set with supplies and went to work. The days he had set out went as scheduled which was to be a 3 day ordeal. Last good point was that one of my colors I picked out turned out to be no good and although he would not go back to the store to add more color in it for me after purchasing more paint he did paint the trim of my home for free. He also took down all the random things attached to the house left from previous owners. Bad points:The first thing that rubbed me wrong was being that I am not bi-lingual I had my neighbor who is, give him a call at the number provided on his card to ask questions about the house and my neighbor complained that his wife was very rude with her and was questioning her about her husband as if she were interested in him instead of being professional since it is a business. My house is old and certainly needed TLC before painting, he and I talked before about scraping the old paint but apparently this was not his plan later. This painter did not scrape, power wash, nor prime and you can tell this house has layers of paint chipping away and painted over each other. To my surprise he just painted over it all again:(!!! When I asked about it he just said it would be ok. I then asked if he would paint over it twice since he was going to do no scraping of anykind nor any priming and the colors were funny as a result of it and he would not do it at all and stated that if I wanted to do so it would be extra money and plus the paint. He didn't even purchase the paint with the primer in it. Needless to say my colors aren't true to color at all but it was already done. There are spots missed and cracks in the house (he said he would fill ALL cracks and paint) that were left un caulked and small areas left unpainted that I will have to paint. They left old caulk and nails on the ground instead of putting them in the trash can (I have a kid and a small dog) and did not put up things they took down like my flag pole I paid to put up that he removed to paint. He also lied and said he would return to put it back up and never did and did not respond to my phone call or text pertaining to it which says he never intended to return. Unhappy with my colors I found it strange that he never tested it on the bricks before painting like most painters do so I could see it. I made them aware before they started that I had just gotten my landscaping done which was apparent and to bring plenty of plastic to cover plants, he never did and got paint on several brand new plants. Upon leaving he had already put up my original trim paint that didn't work that he would not get fixed for me and then asked if I wanted it, when I said yes he was not pleased you could tell but left it anyways which could be why he did not return as he stated to hang my flag pole back. Wanted to charge me 60 more to hang two window shutters. The house turned out ok overall but a very stressful situation and more bad points than good so because of that I will have to say bad choice. Will probably not use this painter again sometimes it's better to just spend more money.
