Merry Maids of Tyler

Their initial clean was sub-par and the service never improved.

Things started out okay. Then they began to pick up less and less on subsequent jobs, the house was never completely clean and then asked me for more money because it was taking too long to pick up the house before they started cleaning. They stated that it only took about an extra 15 minutes to pick up the kids' toys but wanted an extra 50 dollars per visit to cover the extra time.

They will sweep, mop, vacuum, and change sheets. In my experience they did not pick up / straighten up kids play area. I intentionally left a pillow from the bed on the floor before they came on one occasion. They vacuumed all around the pillow but did not move it to clean underneath it; much less put it back on the bed. I was very disappointed.

They show up which is better than some do.

On approximately November 15, 2011, I called and set an appointment with the service in Tyler, TX for December 22, 2011.  I told the associate I wanted the cleaners to perform a DEEP cleaning, since my family was coming for Christmas.   Just a few days before the date the service was to be performed, I called to confirm the date and time of the team's arrival since I was previously told I would receive an email for that purpose and had received none.  I was given the local phone number to call.  It took several days to hear anything from them and when I did, it was a call to me on the very day the service was to be completed  The associate on the phone told me 3 workers would be at my house around 8:30 a.m.  She then called later to tell me they would not be able to come at all that day and would like to come the next day.  My family was arriving that day and I could not have the service performed then.  She finally said they would be out at 12:30 p.m..  They arrived, I showed them around letting them know I expected a DEEP cleaning and then left for work.  They spent 1 hour and 46 minutes at the house.  When I got home to inspect the work I was extremely disappointed.  Some items in the house had not been cleaned, dusted or even touched.  NOTHING WAS CLEANED DEEPLY AT ALL.  I can't tell you just how upset I was since I had already paid the bill.  I made several calls attempting to get the company to refund  at least 1/2 the amount I paid but was offered a re-clean the next day, (already told her no since my family was arriving then).  The final offer for to settle was $25 refund.  I was told during the complaint calls that the company is a GREEN COMPANY and had no products to perform a DEEP CLEAN.  Shouldn't I have been told that when I first made the appointment?  I have had another local woman clean my house on a weekly basis and was charged only $60 for a deeper and better cleaning than the one performed by Merry Maids at a charge of $186.00.  I never heard back from the company and never received and refund of any kind.   I WILL NEVER AGAIN USE MERRY MAIDS OR RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE ELSE.
