Hallmark Wood Floors

The owner was a good salesman, he was really good at talking up his job. He cannnot deliver at what he promises. It was not done to our satisfaction. We had a hard time getting into contact with the company to have them come out and fix the problems. We called a bunch times and he never answered. We used our daughters cell phone and then they answered. They answered the phone and when they found out it was us they apologized for not doing the work to satisfaction. They said that they did not take the time to do it perfectly and that they would come back to fix the problems. We set up a date for September 8th, and the owner said that he would make sure that it is done correctly. The owner left his workers to do the job, and left the job instead of staying like he said he would. The owner was really difficult to work with and made it hard to deal with him. He put the stain down and it came out lighter than we thought it would. The owner asked my husband what he thought and my husband said it was lighter than we thought it would be, but we were okay with it. The owner said that he could get some ebony and put in it and we said okay. The owner said that he was not happy with it. The owner went to the bedroom and shut the door and started staining the floors. We went in there and he was staining our floor black. We asked him what he was doing and he said that we wanted it darker. We asked him to use mineral spirits to lighten it. It did lighten a little and we said we were fine with it. There were several spots where the stain was chipping, and we tried to contact him and he would not answer our calls. We had a friend who recommended this contractor and was in flooring and he told us that we were not being picky. The stain was not applied evenly, and it was not cleaned up appropriately. He walked off the job and did not come back. The owner said that he did his job and that we should be happy with the job.
