Satellite TV Equipment Service
My bill was $59 and went to $119. Everytime there is a storm here we have a problem with the Dish going out. There is also interference on the signal when we watch Fox News. It takes awhile to get someone on the phone when you call them. A lot of times they have an automated response.

Satellite TV Equipment Service
Setup an install at our home. We were going to get the hopper system that they talked so much about. Turns out, in Tyler, Dish doesn't have a contract for HD local channels. The hopper needs the local channels in HD to be able to do what DIsh says they will. The tech started the install by putting the base for the dish up on the roof, while I was talking to the Dish rep on the phone. At that point, I stopped him from doing anything else.Since it wouldn't work properly, and I should say that the technician that came to install the system, told me this. I called Dish to see how they would solve the issue. I tried to get them to do a system with regular hd dvr's that would record the same number of channels as the hopper. They would be glad to. . .for an extra $200 dollars. Even after talking to supervisor's, that was still their answer. At that point, I sent the technician on his way. I ended up calling DIRECTV and getting it installed the next day.

Satellite TV Equipment Service
We happen to live in a community where the major cable/phone company have some contract with Dish Network to supply the entire community. We have no choice of choosing Cable or another Satellite company. We had Direct TV before we moved here and really liked it. Every so often it did go out with the weather, but not a lot. They were great with the number of channels, the ease of how to use their DVR or recording device. Never had any problems. Now we're on Dish Network. Our satellite literally goes out 1-3 time a day. When this happens if anything was scheduled to be recorded or in the process of being recorded, well, you've lost that now. Figuring out how to use the DVR with two separate recording menues and it's other functions are absolutely not user friendly! And when you do get it right, don't worry either the satellite would have gone out close to the end of the movie and it's no longer there, or it just didn't tape long enough. More times than not we very rarely get to see the entirety of a movie due to losing satellite reception or I don't know, uh, somebody sneezes? If you have a choice, absolutely do not pick Direct Satellite unless you have the patience of Job and no real interest in ever getting to see the end of a movie you've taped using their DVR or be watching live TV when what? Oh, yeah the satellite is out again. Sorry........... By the way, because of this contract we were unable to take advantage of any of the discounts that Direct was offering.
