The technician arrived exactally as per schedule.  He was neat and clean and well mannered.  We reviewed the installation and he listened intently to how I wanted the job done.  He worked very effectively and quickly, cleaned up after himself, and then took considerable time to explain the operation of the switch and how it works.  He was done in much less time than he had estimated, and charged me only for the time he actually worked. I will use his services again if I ever need an electrician.

John is absolutely the BEST electrician I've ever used. He dropped a phone line that AT&T couldn't do and it works great. He has added/relocated outlets thoughout the house. He cut several holes in my drywall (with my permission) and afterward he replaced the drywall and screwed it in. All it needs now is to be taped and bedded and it will be ready for the room to be repainted by my contractor.  He moved a ceiling fan and added a chandelier where no electrical connection previously existed. Jon literally cleaned up his entire work areas throughout the house using his vacuum. The areas actually look cleaner than before he arrived! I'm in the middle of a remodel and I have dust is everywhere.

He wants to be known as the best electrician in town! I asked where he was taught his high work ethics and he told me that it was his own personal ethic that he couldn't do a job any less professionally than he'd do in his own home.

I've been around home building/remodeling all my life and I'm not easily impressed...until now.  I highly recommend Jon for anyone needing electrical work done. He returns Friday to additional outlet work and inspecting my electrical panel for any additions needed or replacements required. I have full faith in Jon and his work.

It went great. Jon is very busy, but was able to get the work done on relatively short notice. His quote was clear and his prices were fair. He did an excellent job installing outlets in two bathrooms under very tight constraints (space-wise). The quality of the work is great. He also installed smoke detectors, changed out an antiquated fan switch and explained the low-voltage power system used to control/power all lights in this 1955 home in a way we could easily understand. Jon did a great job, cleaned up nicely and has a friendly and pleasant manner. We have other work planned and will certainly come back to Jon.

I contacted Jon (the owner of Alston electric) to install a new chandelier we purchased for our foyer and to trouble shoot a light switch that was malfunctioning and becoming hot to the touch. He asked appropriate questions about height of area where the chandelier and said he would need to get a 16-foot step ladder. He scheduled come out to do the work a week from the time I called. He was 10 minutes late so I called and he had misplaced our phone number and was running late. He and his assistant arrived. It was raining and his boots were muddy, but he was considerate to remove them before coming inside. He removed the old light and while his assistant was working to prepare the new light he worked on our malfunctioning light switch and replaced it. He then installed the chandelier and asked me to approve the height of it. He was appropriately chatty. He was considerate of the floor and walls with his equipment. I was very impressed and will use him again, I like using small locally owned businesses.
