They came out the same day we called. It only took a few minutes to snake out the drain and test it.  Then they cleaned the icky stuff out of the bowl.

When the owner looked at the job to be done, he told us they could probably install a trap door to access the shower area in the future. When his plumbers got here, they immediately , they were in a hurry because they were late getting here, started cutting the wall, not measuring anything or trying to see if they could cut the appropiate size for a trap door. They installed the new plumbing to the shower via the wall behind. After they finished, they gave us the bill to pay. I asked if they were able to put a trap door in for future access, and they said no, and I asked if they just left a hole in the wall. The man said he put the piece of drywall back up there and that we would need to have it taped and bedded. OK, wish we had known ahead of time.So we had that repaired. After they left I noticed that the round piece of chrome behind the shower spout had not been replaced with the new one, so I called the owner out and he told me the old one was functioning fine , that it did not need to be replaced with the new on! (never mind that I wanted all the new parts used) A few weeks later I was in the back yard when I noticed that water was spilling down the foundation of our house. I did not trust the plumber to come back out, since they had not finished the completely and acted as if they did not care to. So I ran in and called another plumber. He came out in a few minutes and ruled out everything he could before cutting into the back wall again. But he finally decided that the problem was in the plumbing that had been replaced, so he cut a hole in the drywall to see what was going on. He immediately saw that they had barely hand tightened the cold water buckle (huge lug nut), that goes to the cold water tub valve, causing the water to spill into the wall cavity and out the foundation in the back. He tightened it up and the hot water buckle also needed a liitle more tightening He put the piece of drywall back up temperarilly, and I turned fans on the area to hopefully dry it out. Now, here a week later the fans are still going and I smell mold all over.(I am very allergic to mold, and I have asthma). I will call this week and get an estimate for the repair to the wall and all other repairs needed. This leak had been going for several weeks and now I will have to pay for someone else's mistake or carelessness. My husband and I are elderly and disabled and it is very hard for us to deal with everyday problems, and especially complicated problems like this. But I am still glad I did not call the first plumber back out, because we were afraid of more cost and more problems.

It was difficult finding where the leak was coming from but after a process of elimination (7 different holes they had to cut into the walls) they found it. We were so thankful that they did not have to jackhammer the kitchen floor, which we were afraid they might have to do. It took the two men about 5 hours from start to finish.

Overall it was as pleasant as a plumbing problem can be.
