TEXAS GAS WORKS

Extremely unprofessional. First he didn't sow for his first two attempts to fix the lamps. Then when he finally showed, he charged a fortune to service the gas lamps and ( despite clearly telling him I expected the whole lamps to be painted and any rust remediated ) - he only worked on the metal brackets and did nothing about the rusty screws. He didn't try to remediate any rust. When confronted after receiving his Venmo - he claimed it was a misunderstanding and he would paint the lamps only to then go back on the deal after he had the money. His texts to me were littered with curses and vulgarities. He thinks he its so busy that he can get away with ripping off customers. On top of being a complete crook he is also unprofessional and lazy.

I am really puzzled as to where this went wrong.
I see his reviews online and they are absolutely 180 degrees from what happened to me.
I had him come out after telling him several times that I would be installing a new firebox.
He completely dismantled the grill to pieces and then I was told that he could not do the job so he would be back that Saturday, in 2 days, to reinstall it.
First thing, the hot water and gas were turned off so we had to take cold showers.
Second thing, two weeks later after fighting and fighting to get him to come out but continually being told he got too busy or would just not show up, he came out.
I had cleaned the grill to the best of my ability myself because I was sick of looking at a dirty grill.
The grill he put together now is missing parts, does not close proplerly and I honestly do not think he ever cleaned it- at least not the way he said he would or any better than I did.
We paid him $300 and will have to get someone else to come out, clean and fix the grill.
I would not use this company again.

They installed 6 exterior gas lamps. They was referred to me. I had seen their work product and I was satisfied with it and had them install mine.

The work was done very professionally. The cost was very competitive. Stephen showed me the safety features of the new gas line.

He went the extra mile and showed me how to operate my new gas grill and how to keep it in good working order. After the work was done he went to my friends home [down the street] to repair her gas grill. She was also very impressed with the price and his knowledge. We would highly recommend TEXAS GAS WORKS to anyone who wants to have the work done right!!

I bought a house that came with an outdoor kitchen and 8 year old Jennaire builtin gas grill. The grill was not lighting or heating properly. Although it was difficult to schedule an appointment (Stephen and his cousin are the only two staff), I was very satisfied with the work they did. Stephen thoroughly cleaned my jennaire outdoor grill and fixed parts that were not working to where I could start cooking with it. He also showed me the parts I needed to order to get it back into full working condition (one of the burners needs replacing, missing a rotisserie rod and motor and a smoke tray) and he offered to come back out and install them once I receive them. They spent 3 hours cleaning it and it looks almost new again. Overall he and his partner did an outstanding job.

It was a bit difficult to schedule the service, but they did a good job and were very polite once the were out to the house.

Called Stephen, Friday morning, hoping to get fit in that day and maybe Saturday. He finished a job early and was at my home before 5pm. The gas lights look new, and the gas grill is ready for Monday cookout.

I now have arrangement for them to come out once a year to clean my lights and grill.

They cleaned our gas grill and got it in working order but they do not have access to parts that needed to be replaced. They did a good job cleaning our grill.

When my front porch gas light went out, I phoned Steve. He came out to repair and clean the light while I had to be out, so we had arranged for me to leave him a check under the doormat. I was comfortable doing this because I'd read earlier reviews. I left for the day, and when I came back the porch light was sparking clean and burning bright.

The over all job from start to finish was outstanding. I had a two other bids that were much higher than that offered by Texas Gas Works, and I assure you the job could not have been better than I received. A new gas line was run, and the brass house lamp was restored to a like new condition, as was the old retro yard pole light which was also restored to a like new condition. The pole and light were original, 45 years old, so we decided to have Texas Gas Works install a new pole at a later date since the restoration to the old pole/light came out so great. I will defiantly keep Texas Gas Works on my fair, honest, and outstanding work list of companies I rely on when I have a problem, or need additional work they can do.

Very friendly when they came to my house right away...took apart the grill...a very well used and dirty grill...said they had to take the parts back to their shop to clean properly and would be back at the latest in two days. I told them I was having a party in five days and they said oh don't worry we will take care of you, if we cant get back over here in one day it will be two at the most and if that happens we will call you. I never heard from them again. I called and called and harassed them, finally saying I just wanted the parts back (it may be an old grill but it is an expensive old grill and it doesnt work at all without the burners and grills and flavor bars, etc!). For some reason they didn't even think that they should respond to my calls and give me an excuse. Heck if they had said anything I would have been at least mollified that they had good intentions and that some personal crisis had gotten in the way. I understand, stuff happens. Anyway, I finally got my husband to call them because had to go out of town, and lo and behold they called him back immediately and came out right away with the parts and finished the job. Pretty sure my husband threatened legal action. Or maybe they just didn't feel like a woman was important enough to respond to. All I know is all my calling and begging didn't have any results. The final job was good, I mean yeah they cleaned the grill but it wasn't spectacular, just good. And of course it wasnt done until weeks after the party. Definitely not worth the trouble. Would not use them again and would not recommend. I was very surprised and disappointed because like I said at the beginning they were so nice and polite and assured me they would do a great job.

Someone reported smelling gas in my backyard, so I called Centerpoint Energy immediately. The worker came over and found my gas leak right away and turned off the gas valve (it was a bent tube near the gas meter). I found Texas Gas Works on Angie's List and decided to add a grill clean to the gas line repair. Steven came over to do the line repair the next day; the cleaning was done a few days later by Jeremy. They were both very courteous and polite; would use them again.

Steve came the day I called and told me which parts needed to be replaced on my grill. He said the grill was still under warranty and that I could get the parts from the manufacturer for only a shipping fee. I ordered the parts, called Steve again and he came and installed the parts and cleaned the grill. Excellent work.

I called Steve on a Holiday and left a message that one of the glass panes in our outdoor gas lamp had broken. Steve called the next day and scheduled service for the following day. Since the lamp had not had service for the life of our home, I agreed to purchase Texas Gas Work's Service package, in which Steve not only replaced the broken pane, but the other 3 as well. He also cleaned the lamp, checked for leaks, replaced the mantle and repainted the lamp. Since we were at work the day of the service, Steve e-mailed photos of his finished work to me! He also e-mailed a receipt. This was perfect service--a company that responded quickly to my call, scheduled service promptly, and did the work as planned. I loved the e-mail with the "finished" photos. I wish more companies would take this kind of effort to make their customers happy.

Steve came on time and got to work right away. In about two hours both my gas light fixtures and grill were cleaned and they looked brand new. I will be using this company to maintain all my gas fireplaces in my home, was that satisfied. Thank you Steve

Excellent communication, knew exactly what I wanted to have done. Was on time (early - yea!). Did an excellent job of explaning what he was going to do to replace the lite. Was a 'one man' installation. Communicated what was going on with the gas coming thru the new line and how long it might take to have all mantles 'bright' as the gas needed to blow out the air that would keep the mantles 'dim'. Cleaned up all of the soil that he had dug up and replaced the grass. Wonderful experience!

This is one of the best experiences I've had with a company providing services for my house. They showed up exactly when they told me they would arrive. They were extremely courteous and professional. They paid so much attention to detail that they even shined the figurine at the top of the lamp. The entire process only took around 30 minutes and the gas lamp looks like new. The amount that I was quoted over the phone was exactly what they charged - no surprises or deception like I have had with many other contractors recently. I highly recommend this company!
