The service was spot on from beginning to end. They were hampered by weather in the beginning of the project, but the extra time it took to complete the job was well worth it. They handled a difficult access issue with ease and professionalism. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to redesign your backyard in any way.

They absolutly go above and beyond. They spend a whole day in our yard doing things like trimming and digging.

They come periodically and they come every 2 weeks. I'm very happy with them that they do what they said they're going to do for a fair price. We haven't had any issues.

It went great. Everything went good. They were really professional. Everything turned out great. They're on time and really good. They planted beautiful flowers and cleaned up everything.

They were fantastic. I ended up spending $88. They measure how much lawn you have and charge you accordingly. I've had them for years. I don't keep anybody if I don't like them. They've been with me for 12 years at least.

Stephen Stewart is an extremely creative individual. His management team, and every single worker (for stone, fountains, landscaping and lighting) are truly the hardest working crews I've ever seen. They work VERY long hours, take pride in what they do, and are always gracious and cheerful. Seriously...I've seldom seen a group of people like this. Stephen guarantees every bit of the work, and is most concerned with the customer's satisfaction.
Some of our neighbors, we have heard, think the company's work is too expensive. We do not as we chose to dedicate the money to improving our home and the neighborhood. Others try to imitate the quality of Stewart Land Designs, at a cheaper cost. I wish them well, but we prefer the quality of Stephen Stewart and company. They are not and quot;cheap, and quot; but we feel they are reasonable and can deliver what they say they can...and then some.

It's a smaller business, and we've been using their services for nearly 8 years. The gentleman has been very responsive to any issues, consistently does good work, and hasn't raised the prices very much over the years which we appreciate.

I have been extremely pleased with their service. They have always done a great job for me and I have a lot of confidence in their work. They gave me a bid for the pool work. Their bid was competitive and everything had gone well. They are always very curteous and professional. They are easy to work with and easy to talk to about any issues I may be having.

They always call to ask which day is most convenient. They do the work and put the bill in the door when they leave. He has always done a good job, he is always on time and he has never missed an appointment. The pricing is very reasonable and they do a great job for me.

We've used Stewart Land Designs since 2007 and would not think of using anyone else. Over the last several years, we've spent at least $40k with Stewart Land Designs. Stephen Stewart takes pride in providing unique, pleasing designs, while having the horticultural experience to know what plants will thrive. Some companies cut costs in the area of bed preparation, which result in unsatisfactory results long-term, but not this company.

My initial reservation with them was that they would not be able to give me a design, with the things I wanted, within my budget. After speaking with them, they said to fill out some forms on what you want and they would come for an initial consultation which was free. This initial visit was to make sure that we were all on the same page with respect to expectations.
During the initial visit, the owner of the company went over his design philosophy. He had many good ideas and talked about various $100,000 projects his company worked on. As my budget was $15-20k, I made sure that what I was asking for, was going to be possible within that budget. Having the owner constantly talk about projects that were much bigger than mine didn't make me feel very comfortable. It was like he was name dropping. He assured me that he could work with my budget. He then told me that the fee for the design was $800 and he would give me a 50% discount off the front yard design for a total of $1200. I agreed and he left.
A month later he came back with a very nice front an back yard design. although it was missing some of the elements I specifically asked for (i.e. fire pit). When I asked for the cost estimate, there was none. They said they would come back at a later date with costs. Personally, I think this is a poor business practice. Why come, without an estimate? I reminded the owner of our budget and he said we should be fine.
A week later the owner's assistant came back with the estimate and I could not believe my eyes! Almost $60,000 for the backyard alone and it still didn't have everything we discussed like the firepit which I was told I would have to supply. I never even got an estimate for the front yard, but was only told it would be more than the backyard. I felt sorry for the assistant as I asked her if I didn't hear her boss correctly the prior week when he said this would come in $15-20k not $60k. She said I was right, he did say that.
Needless to say I was very upset. I spoke with the owner for a long time about what would be done. He said he was designing what was best for the backyard, regardless of price. I didn't have to do everything at once, so we could start with $20k. I told him that is NOT what I paid for. I paid for a $15-20k design, and I did not get it. If I knew that his design would be $60k up front, then I would have never paid $1200 for the design. Even if his design, was $30k, I would have been ok, but 3 times my budget was unacceptable. I paid for much cheaper design, and I never got it.
The owner told me he would work on the design. Months go by and I hadn't heard a thing. Finally after 6 additional months, I wrote him and asked for my money back. He instead modified the design to bring it around 30k, but at this point I am not interested and will not use his design or his company. I only want the return of my money, which they refuse to do.
If money is not object, and budgets don't matter, I think Stewart Land Designs has some good designs, but personally I don't need $150,000 landscaping (front and back) on a house worth twice that.
