Everyone at The Pool Man did a great job of designing and constructing our pool! It is beautiful, exactly what we wanted, and something we will enjoy for years to come. We really appreciated the effort they put into making the entire process both easy on us and as well organized and problem free as possible. When problems did arise, our construction supervisor was very good at communicating what was going on and how it would affect the overall schedule (our pool was finished within a week of the original timeline estimate). The pool school training after our pool was complete was invaluable for us. Thanks to the entire crew at The Pool Man!

The build was well managed and the installation is excellent. In my opinion, they build the best quality pools in the area. The Pool Man is one of the few companies that we found that has great expertise in infloor cleaning systems. The pool that we had installed was more expensive than we planned for but has many additional features that minimize maintenance time. We have a UV filter, an ozonator, and the infloor cleaning system that were all installed by the Pool Man. We are extremely pleased with the clarity of the water and the cleanliness of the pool. The build was slower than originally expected, but we were severely impacted by heavy rains that kept causing delays with the gunite coating and PebbleTec finish. They did an excellent job in communication and trying to keep things on schedule. A pool build is extremely dirty and does tremendous damage to the surrounding area. The Pool Man did a great job in keeping the debris and mess contained. When they were spraying the gunite and the Kool Deck surface, they covered everything (bushes, fencing, and house) to avoid damage. They cleaned up at the end of each day and managed with 1 fairly large, but contained pile. They also worked well with a different contractor that we hired to install an outdoor kitchen. They were not the highest bid that we received and they weren't the lowest, but they did offer the best technical offering for the price.

The Pool Man, Inc. installed our custom in ground pool in August 2012.  They were excellent.
After surviving a nightmare ($100K +) remodel of our home, we were reluctant to face another major construction project by going through the process of building a pool.  The Pool Man performed admirably.  There were no surprises during the whole design and install process.  Blake, our sales consultant was knowledgeable and very professional.  As we had never owned a pool before, he guided us through the process and was always very helpful.  The pool was built to our specifications, on time and on budget.  Bart our Project Manager was always helpful and accessible.  We are very pleased with our pool.
The Pool Man has handled a few minor warranty issues as outlined in our sales agreement - no waffling or questions asked.  Each technician they have sent to our home were extremely knowledgeable of their products and were very professional and friendly.  They stand behind their product.  I have already referred them to a few people building pools and will do so again.

They were very professional from the designer, Wes, to the manager, Ted who oversaw the demolition and construction details of the pool and deck.  He was present at some point almost daily to review construction when there was activity and reviewed any change that needed to be made with us.  Sometimes the subcontractors arrived without the knowledge of Ted but that was in part due to weather and other factors not controllable by The Pool Man.

We have been using them, but we stopped them a while ago. The person who came over earlier was good. Now he is not available and currently the service is poor. They seem to be expensive too. I did complain it to them.

They were great with working with me on the timeline I needed, they were upfront about the costs and stayed on time and on budget.  Excellent communication throughout the project so we knew what was going to be done when, and also of any issues that were encountered.  They did come across one issue that ended up creating some rework and a short delay but they took care of it.
The pool looks and works great now.  These guys did a high quality job and managed the project very well.  I am very pleased with the experience - would definitely use them again.

The Pool Man has been our pool maintenance company for over a year.  They are always on time, do a thorough job, and keep the pool well in balance.  We have had no issues with the pool since they took over the maintenance.
The office staff are always very pleasant and helpful, it's really a joy to work with these guys.
Our most recent experience with them was when we called to have them estimate cost to retile our pool, and advise us as to whether or not it also needed resurfacing.  The guy was easy to schedule, showed up right on time, provided balanced advice, and presented the proposal for work in a very timely fashion.  He has been very responsive and helpful to all my questions.  I strongly suspect that they will be getting the additional work to resurface and retile our pool due to their professionalism and high quality work.  They are not the cheapest pool company out there, but you can count on them to do the job right.

It went great. I found them through Angie's List. They were on time and on schedule. They were very professional even with the freeze. We have had an issue with our hot tub because there was not even water in it because one of the valves was shut down because of the freeze and they came and fix it on the next day. Their pricing was in the middle of the road. They were competitive because I interviewed probably seven companies and they were right in the middle. They were there at 6:00 in the morning and they were very responsive and punctual. They said that the pool will be done in six weeks and it was done in six weeks.

Nicely integrated necessary wall into pool design.  Their use of 3D design software was excellent and allowed us to clearly understand end result. I felt that I had to stay on top of some things for continuity between crews. Duration took much longer than stated (> 3 months) due to weather, holidays, and some rework. Quality of end product is excellent.

The job went very smoothly - they dug up the affected return line, identified that there were actually two that had been affected, repaired both and then conducted a pressure test. The price was split 50/50 between labor cost and pressure test as far as I remember. I haven't rated punctuality as it was several months ago they did the job, and I can't remember if they were on time or not.
They DID do the job at short notice, but I think I was lucky to get that availability - they were just coming off their seasonal rush.
I am generally very satisfied with the job, and would definitely use them again.

The project scope of putting in a pool / hot tub is huge.  I didn't realize just now much work was entailed until the project started.  The entire project went very smoothly.  All of the workers that were at our house did a great job and were very hard workers.  We love the pool that they made for us!!

If this is the same company,  they started off great. On time, same day of the week, pool looked good. Then, they started to slack off, threw the partially dissolved Chlorine tablets in the flower bed or into the spa. Next, they didn't show up regularly, unless of course, it was to collect the monthly payment in advance.  By September, the pool was a nice shade of green and then offered to clean/drain for $600.00.
Maybe "The Pool Man" has changed owners, staff  etc. but I wouldn't take any chances.

"[member name removed] - we appreciate all comments concerning our level of customer service and treat all feedback with a very high level of importance. However, I have gone through all of our records and we are not the company you are referring to. We have never serviced this address nor does your name show up on any of our accounting or service records. Our billing is done by mail and we do not send anyone to "pick-up" payments. Our pool cleaners are taught/trained in proper pool maintenance, attend weekly training/safety meetings, are properly uniformed and our trucks are marked with our name and phone number for identification. Our pool cleaners have specific routes to run each week and our Route Manager confirms all work every week. We also hold ourselves responsible for your pool if we maintain it. If the pool got out of control because of our poor service - we do not charge the customer to get it back to normal - we take care of it. We are sorry for your experience with this "other" company. We hope that you will review your records and let the "other" company know of your experience. As I said we had some communication issues during construction that caused some stress but we worked together and solved the problems by and large. The pool is beautiful.

However I cannot recommend the in pool PCC cleaning system. I would rather have my Polaris like I had at my old pool. The concept of the PCC is great. It just is not working like I thought it would. I have debris collecting in certain areas. Also I was aware that socalled bigger debris that gets in your pool would not be handled by the cleaner so that supplemental cleaning would be necessary at times. Just had no idea what the bigger debris would be. To keep my pool looking good, I need to get the vacuum out every couple of days which is a lot more trouble than removing a polaris when you want to swim. It was a system that was supposed to make having a pool easier and it has increased our maintenance. It is too pricey to have to do what we have to do.

So overall we have a well built pool that is beautiful. But we also have a pool that is more trouble than we wanted. Stick with the traditional and proven cleaning systems. The PCC 2000 is not worth the price tag.

"[member name removed] - Thank you for your honest and straightforward review. We appreciate you taking the time to express your feeling towards our company. We use these reviews to work on becoming a better company and to find ways to improve our customer service. We are aware of the issue with your in-floor cleaning system. I discussed the problem with Ted and he will be stopping by this week to adjust the system and investigate any problems. The in-floor system usually needs a few adjustments before operating at it's full potential and we will do everything in our power to make sure your system is working correctly. I have already met with our Superintendents and discussed the importance of constant communication with our customers. Again we appreciate your comments and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you might have. Thank You!"

The installation of the pool went well as has repairs since.  We've had to have them come out since the buildout for both in warranty repairs and out of warranty repairs.  They do quality work.

This was really an excellent experience.  The Pool Man took good care of me.  They were very prompt in responding to my initial inquiry in June.  They provided a design that I loved and filled the needs that I described to them.  We signed a contract at the end of June.  They had a waiting list, which they were quite up front about, so we didn't start to try to dig until late July.  It turned out, with my 40 year old house, that there were quite a few electric, gas, and sewer lines that had to be moved and, because of their age, required the city to move or a plumber to move.  This could have gone faster if I'd known I needed to coordinate this prep work beforehand.  They finally started digging at the end of August and the work was quite steady -- something happened everyday.  The folks were reliable, trustworthy.  When we needed to make changes, the Pool Man was transparent about the changes, made up change orders, and was clear about the cost of the change.  Their recommendations about adjustments in drainage and gutters to protect my investment were spot on.  The pool was finished in early October and they've been great about follow ups and any repair and warranty work and even my "new pool owner silly questions."  I love, love, love my pool.  I've heated it and swim in it daily all winter long.  I come home in the evening, turn on the water falls, and wash all the cares of the world away.  The Pool Man is not the cheapest in the business -- they don't disguise that either --but the integrity and attention to detail and the quality of the product that I received was worth every penny of the investment.  They are now providing my weekly pool cleaning service as well.

This was our second go around with a pool builder search.  The first time we ended up not getting the pool built.  After interviewing five or six companies the first time, The Poolman was the only one of the original companies we talked to again.  This time we narrowed it down to three companies that all seemed very good but in the end we went with The Poolman because we liked the design the best, they came in within our budget and for their very good and deserved reputation.
We had a pretty good idea of what we wanted but it was great to have a designer (Blake) to throw out new ideas for us to consider.  Once we made all of our selections it was time to start the build.  Our construction foreman (Bart) was here for most of the digging process.  Once we progressed through the stages he was here to get the crew started and to check on the work throughout the day.  After some delays because of the weather things went pretty smoothly.  We had some complaints about some of the finishing stone work but it was taken care to our satisfaction.  The pool has been flawless since completion and looks great.  We love our pool and The Poolman!
