Did not have enough crew, always behind. Owner was preoccupied . Price was going up, quality of work dimenishing . Office girl appreared to be running the show. Customer service certainly was lacking. Saw a foreman once and never saw him again. Landscaping installs over priced.

I don't think they will want my review. I'm not particular happy with their service. I am not real happy with them. It was lawn maintenance and general garden maintenance. They just do the cutting, trimming and pulling. The cost is by the month for $200 a month. They come out 4 times a month. It's about $50 a visit. With general lawn maintenance, they are fine. They come and cut the lawn. If I ask them to trim a bush, they will trim a bush. The guys that come are great. It is a management problem.

I had some work I was doing in the garden redesigning the outside planting. The lack of communication of where they started the work before I had concerned everything. They started the work without me being there. They gave me a date. They said they would start on Monday. I came back on Friday to find that most of the work was done. The things they had done was out of the boundary of what we had discussed. They had removed bushes without my consent and things like that. The owner was extremely rude when I pointed this out to her. She was having a stressful time in her life but still that was not acceptable. She was extremely rude and never apologized. I would not use them for the big projects.

I have been a client of Woodlands Landscaping for approximately 7 years or so.  I did terminate them about 2 years or so ago for changing my lawn service day from agreed to Fridays to Monday.  They were not agreeable for compromise at that time.  One year later I rehired them to come back if they would agree to service me on Fridays.  They agreed.
I have a very small amount of grass to be serviced.  My lawn is approximately 60 feet by 20 feet in size.  The rest of the yard is beds and an area in the atrium area (pave stones) with 6 trees.  They agreed to service as follows: 1) mow, edge and trim the grass, 2) blow the atrium pave stone area and around the trees on a slow setting so not to remove the mulch around the trees, 3) blow behind the house where there is no grass only natural growth, 4) pick up leaves as necessary.
When the normal crew came they did a fine job.  When a substitute crew came there could and would be helter skelter.  I would point out to the office person, Debbie, in writing of the things that needed correcting.  Most of the time I would get a response, but not always.  I would have to write again and finally get a response.  She would would tell me corrections would be made.  Never would she say she apologized for the problem.  I always felt she was not pleased with my writing to her.  I would copy the owner, Sara, most of the time so that she would know my concerns.
When the spring season began in March 2014 to this date April 28, 2014 I would say that 50% of my service was performed on Saturdays not Fridays.  I began to be concerned that they wanted to change me to Saturdays.  I wrote about it several times in the past 2 months.  I also pointed out that the crew many times blew around the trees in the atrium too hard and fast and was removing the mulch that I recently paid them to install.  Reminded them of our agreement to blow softly around those 6 trees.  Also, made note to them to be careful not to move the sprinkler heads around these same 6 trees.  These sprinkler heads are delicate and not the normal lawn sprinkler heads.  The crew was mishandling them so that they did not spray correctly.
Recently I wrote asking why they did not service me on Good Friday.  Lawn agreement does not stipulate not servicing on Good Friday.  The office person, Debbie, wrote back and said that they let the crews off that entire weekend for the holiday.  I wrote back and applauded them for doing so.  But, I did ask to explain if they took the weekend off, why did the crew service my lawn on the very next day Saturday?  When I did not receive an answer in about 5 days or so, I wrote again and asked again.  My point was Woodlands Landscaping could not claim to have taken the entire weekend off, Friday thru Sunday and then service me on Saturday.  Again, my point was that either they were mistaken about taking the weekend off, or they were actually trying to move me to Saturday which was 50% of their service dates since March 1, 2014.  I wanted to know what was happening.
Finally, their response was to cancel the service agreement.
My assumption is that if you are not satisfied with the service and you ask questions (maybe too often) they would prefer not to service me any longer.  They have the right to choose who they serve.  I have the right to ask for service previously agreed to.
I demand first class service and I will pay for it.  Woodlands Landscaping is extremely high priced, but that never bothered me, but when one does not perform I have the right to ask for and receive superior service.
I will not recommend them primarily because of the office person who tried to "fool" me too often and not successfully.  She responded with a cancellation notice.  I assume she would not have made the cancellation notice without consulting with the owner, Sara.
