After unsuccessfully battling chinch bugs & fungus for years on my own, a significant portion of my lawn had deteriorated to the point where I thought a complete re-sod of the affected areas was in order. As a last resort, I contracted with Lawn Ranger to provide quarterly lawn maintenance service (fertilization, fungicide, pesticide, herbicide treatments). My lawn has recovered nicely & is in noticeably better shape than are those of most of my neighbors - and no re-sodding was required! On occasion, their service tech provided me with some helpful lawn care tips & even responded to questions I had texted him after hours and on weekends.

Lawn Ranger provides an excellent level of service. The workers are very professional, and will let you know if they cannot provide the service on any given day, if the yard is too wet, etc. Lawn Ranger is not the cheapest lawn service company we have used, but the level of service more than exceeds what others have provided. I believe you get what you pay for. Services we have used in the past have had workers staring in windows, taking breaks in the yard and leaving their trash, etc. We see none of this with Lawn Ranger. If there are any questions, you can contact the office and the issues will be corrected promptly. We also use Lawn Ranger for specialty services such as ant treatments, fertilizing, aerating, etc. They provide full service for your yard maintenance needs.

"Mr. and Mrs. [removed member name], We have attempted to reach you by phone, and have left numerous voice messages. We have provided lawn services for you since October 2013. Our records show that in April 2014 you requested some additional landscaping services. After several unsuccessful attempts to reach you by phone in order to set up a meeting to discuss your needs, Mark Dawson sent an email on May 2, saying that he has tried numerous times to make contact with you, and asking you to please call him at the office. The next communication we received from you is an email dated May 18, in which you list several things you wish to have done to your lawn and garden. Meanwhile, you posted a less than favorable review on Angie's List on May 14, in which you graded us poorly on a job that you declared was done on May 12 at a cost of $1,800.00. We have no record of any work other than your regular maintenance being done on or around this date, nor any work being done in the amount of $1,800.00. Actually, we are still waiting for approval to begin the work. I am not understanding why you indicate you would not hire us again, when in fact, you have not cancelled your maintenance service, and in your email dated May 18, you are requesting yet more services. I had originally had this service to do a large clean up of my roof and yard which is over 1 acre. Mark came and went over all to be done and the work turned out very nice. Since then, I have used them to mow my lawn and move large branches to a burn pile in the back. Each of the two other times, the results were poorer, with the last one leaving major limbs which I could barely move, by the fence (as if I wouldn't notice?). I attempted to call the owner of the company twice, the first week the receptionist said he was out of town at a conference, left my name and number. The second week he reportedly had the flu. The third week I waited without any contact from him. I have paid only 1/2 of their overpriced bill, which I would have allowed the owner to make right, but am switching to another company entirely. We'll see if he calls me back after this poor evaluation.

"I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. The information from my office was correct in that I was in Orlando at a conference. It was there that I became ill. Upon landing at IAH, I went directly to E.R. where I was diagnosed with H1N1 flu. I was out of the office for 2 weeks. During that time, I was in no condition to return phone calls. I'm sorry. I believe you indicated you have not paid for the service. That is perfectly OK. And I'll be happy to refund whatever additional money you feel is appropriate. Thank you very much. Having just moved into our new house with nice front and back yards we were eager to enlist a company to treat our lawn for brown patches and overall health. There is also some landscaping needed in our front yard removal of tree limbs and shrubs that we are unable to handle ourselves. We found the Lawn Ranger company through Angie's and signed up for their treatment services. Although we have only been using them for a couple months so far (which has equated to 2 lawn treatments) so far I am unimpressed by how our lawn has responded based on how much we are paying each treatment ($180/treatment). Granted we are moving into Fall season and the milder temperatures are likely a factor but the brown patches in our lawn have not improved (in some cases they appear worse) and now we are seeing some additional patches appear. We are worried that the treatments may actually be having a negative effect.
Now normally I would take this to the company directly and work with them to address my concerns rather than jumping straight to blasting them in a review however this brings me to my second, and more important, criticism of Lawn Ranger. They are extremely unresponsive. If I thought my concerns would be addressed in a timely manner then I would probably spend the time and effort to address them with the company directly. I have called and left messages for Mark to return my calls for various requests which include providing information on tree trimming services and also providing quote and scheduling for landscaping in the front of our house. Many times I have called and spoken to Amber (who by the way is very courteous and professional) and reminded her to ask Mark to call me or at least email me the requested information and 9 times out of 10 I have not heard from him. The only time he did respond was after I called several times in a row over the course of a couple days. This is unacceptable from a customer service standpoint and in my mind reflects a lack of professionalism (hence the reason I rated them low on that metric also). The only explanation I can think of for the lack of responsive would be if he is extremely busy and just cannot find the time to respond however if that was the case then he should not have agreed to provide me the information in the first case.
In general I have been very put off by how my requests have been handled and I will be looking for another company to treat and maintain our lawn as well as provide landscaping services in the future.

We had Lawn Ranger design and construct landscaping around our patio. We also have them do all of our lawn fertilization and weed control.
Mark came up with a beautiful landscaping plan. He worked with us to pick out out plants and gave us alot of options. We have pets so we wanted to make sure all of our choices were pet friendly. It did take a few weeks to get our job done due to his busy schedule, but it was worth it. It is so much more than what we expected.
The lawn service is excellent. We have the same gentleman that comes everytime so he is familar with what we like to have done. He always calls ahead of time to make sure our pets are in the house. He also gives us advise on the watering schedule, and how to take care of out landscaping. This is an excellent service.

Matt was reasonable and listend to my suggestions. He allowed me to do some of the work (remove the dead azaleas) myself to offset the added cost of some of my additions to his original plan. He showed up with the crew promptly at 9 AM. Went over the plan with me again and then made sure they knew exactly what I wanted before he left .It looks fantastic...actually better than what I expected. They used better stone around the edges than what was there and added LOTS of hardwood mulch. The crew was great...worked efficiently and had the job done in about 3 hours and they cleaned everything up before they left.

The first crew arrived the following Tuesday morning. Mark came with them to give them the specific instructions to clean out my beds and add new mulch. They also delivered a yard of rocks for my heavy pet-traffic area and mowed and edged my yard. They completed the work quickly and efficiently and left my driveway and sidewalks cleaner than when they arrived.
The second crew arrived Wednesday and applied my first fertilization and brown-patch treatment. They also assisted me in modifying my sprinkler system schedule to maximize the growth and vitality of my lawn.
I look forward to their bi-weekly visits throughout this fall and winter and will definitely contract them in the spring to add new landscaping features.

We are absolutely delighted with them. They are awesome people. They are here every time they say they are going to be here. We get the bills regularly. I love them. They are fabulous and very responsive. They charge $52 since we don’t have a very big lawn. They do a nice job and we are very pleased with them. They are very prompt and fast. They say they are going to be here every other Friday and they are here every other Friday. I don’t have to call them. They come in and get the job done. They will be here for only 20 to 30 minutes. They are very careful. We have a little fountain with a waterfall in the backyard. They blow the leaves off the back porch. So, it often blows into the fountain when they do that. They take the time to take the net that we have got out there and clean out whatever they have blown into the fountain to make sure that it still keeps operating properly. They are absolutely wonderful. I would give them the highest marks. We would use their services in the future too.

Lawn Rangers have some very polite people who are always on time. My yard always looks so beautiful. They do such a great job. I recommended them to several others. They also tried their services and everyone I know has been pleased. There has never once been any kind of mess left behind. I will not tell them this, but I wouldn't mind if they did leave a little mess.
