After unsuccessfully battling chinch bugs & fungus for years on my own, a significant portion of my lawn had deteriorated to the point where I thought a complete re-sod of the affected areas was in order. As a last resort, I contracted with Lawn Ranger to provide quarterly lawn maintenance service (fertilization, fungicide, pesticide, herbicide treatments). My lawn has recovered nicely & is in noticeably better shape than are those of most of my neighbors - and no re-sodding was required! On occasion, their service tech provided me with some helpful lawn care tips & even responded to questions I had texted him after hours and on weekends.

"Mr. and Mrs. [removed member name], We have attempted to reach you by phone, and have left numerous voice messages. We have provided lawn services for you since October 2013. Our records show that in April 2014 you requested some additional landscaping services. After several unsuccessful attempts to reach you by phone in order to set up a meeting to discuss your needs, Mark Dawson sent an email on May 2, saying that he has tried numerous times to make contact with you, and asking you to please call him at the office. The next communication we received from you is an email dated May 18, in which you list several things you wish to have done to your lawn and garden. Meanwhile, you posted a less than favorable review on Angie's List on May 14, in which you graded us poorly on a job that you declared was done on May 12 at a cost of $1,800.00. We have no record of any work other than your regular maintenance being done on or around this date, nor any work being done in the amount of $1,800.00. Actually, we are still waiting for approval to begin the work. I am not understanding why you indicate you would not hire us again, when in fact, you have not cancelled your maintenance service, and in your email dated May 18, you are requesting yet more services. I appreciate your business. However, I find no basis for this negative review. I would be most grateful if you would correct this and set the record straight. Thank you so much. Walt Crowder, Owner"

"I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. The information from my office was correct in that I was in Orlando at a conference. It was there that I became ill. Upon landing at IAH, I went directly to E.R. where I was diagnosed with H1N1 flu. I was out of the office for 2 weeks. During that time, I was in no condition to return phone calls. I'm sorry. I believe you indicated you have not paid for the service. That is perfectly OK. And I'll be happy to refund whatever additional money you feel is appropriate. Thank you very much. Generally, our staff does a very good job of staying within that timeline; however, due to volume of calls or other circumstances, occasionally it might take up to 48 hours for us to return the calls. As you stated in your review, 2 days later someone from our office did call your cell phone and your home phone and left messages. Again, I am sorry we were unable to connect. We do want your business. Please note: we attempt to answer the phones LIVE during our office hours of 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (not 9:00 - 4:00). Not sure about the origin of the message for you to call "before 830am and after 5pm." That would only reach the automated message box. Once again, I apologize for your inconvenience. We pride ourselves in good Customer Satisfaction. Our efforts have been rewarded by being the recipient of "The Best in The Woodlands" for the past 3 years. Thank you very much."
"Member, we appreciate the contact and RFP. As for the location, we provide services in The Woodlands and surrounding areas. This includes portions of Spring. Unfortunately, it is impossible to be specific as to particular streets, neighborhoods, and subdivisions when filling out a profile. If we don't have customers in a particular area, the price can be non-competitive for a single customer. The geography of areas we serve also vary, depending on the Division. For example, we might have a Fertilization route in an area that we do not have a lawn maintenance route. I apologize that we did not respond to your request in a more timely manner. Our goal is to respond to all RFP's within 24 hours. And our Client Services Representatives do a very good job of staying within that time line. However, on rare occasions we may be slower to respond, depending upon the volume of calls. I have edited our profile in Angie's List to say The Woodlands and surrounding areas.
