Gary clearly has the technical ability to properly install closet shelving.  He has a carpentry back-ground, along with several other specific skill sets.  He over-engineered in some areas, not out of ignorance but out of wanting to do the job well.  I provided photos and very specific instructions what I wanted installed (shelf measurements, placements and materials) and he gave a bid based on that (as well as several other handyman).    He installed over 100 lineal feet of shelving, about 360 feet of vertical paneling, 14 rod/shelf supports, and 6 shelf supports.  These were additional shelves/supports to 5 closets that had existing 30 year old 1x11 solid wood shelves.
I chose Gary because he seemed to know what he was doing (he asked the right questions) and could do the work quickly (he had a small window before a larger job he was about to start).
Gary was humble, professional and focused on getting the job done.  This was a relatively easy job, but you had to know how to use several different saws as well as weight:length ratio common sense, which he had.
Gary had only 3 reviews when I called him .  His reviews were good and I was looking for someone "under the radar' that could do the job well and not overcharge..  This is him.  He doesn't pay to advertise on Angie's List.  He gets leads by word of mouth and he stays pretty busy.   I suspect busier as the days go by.
He's the quiet handyman who tries to stay small but quality and value speak volume in this market.

I contacted Gary to repair a badly damaged door frame. He responded quickly and provided a detailed quote with a competitive price. We set up a time for him to come do the work within the next week since security was important in this case.
Gary answered all questions and concerns I had perfectly. He showed up promptly on the scheduled day and explained what he was going to do to replace the frame. He did a great job and in a timely manner. The door frame is now actually more secure and in better shape than it was prior to the damage. The cost was as quoted and again, we were very pleased. Gary was very professional yet personable and we are planning to have him come back out to do several other projects. We are looking forward to working with him in the future.

Over all experience was great, I would definitely hire Gary again, his professionalism was excellent. And his price was fantastic. .

He is magnificent. I've been using him several times for a couple of years. He is responsible and easy to work with. He is always on time and he offers a reasonable price. He is very detailed and very clean. He double checks his work and if he is not satisfied he will come back, fix it to make it better. I highly recommend him.

We had about 250 sq ft of hardwood flooring in one bedroom and a short hallway. We had purchased the hardwood prior to calling 'Building Excellence'. Gary was very responsive and attentative to all my needs, questions and requests. He did an excellent and professional job installing the flooring. He and his men were quick, acurate, and polite. They even worked under a tent when it started to rain, saying " We should be finished soon, ma'am". The floors are beautiful and we had Gary measure our bathrooms for a new paint job! We will be calling on him again.

Gary showed up right on time, he took measurements for what was needed for the vent job. Once supplies were gotten he went to work with speed and proficiency that is rare. He installed both dryer vent extension to roof and stove back splash in around 3 hours. WOW!
